My name is Tiffany, and I'm a hair-a-holic (and a product junkie). Is that like an alcoholic/crackhead???

In ANY store, I also have to look at the hair stuff. Dollar store, Walmart, supermarket, whatever. I read this forum constantly. I want to talk about hair all day, but my non-LHCF girls don't want to hear it. Thank God for you ladies!

I knew you could do it!! I'm so proud of you girl!!! doesnt it feel good to come clean????

lmao

we are in this thing together girl, hugs!!!

hehehe

U know, I'm not gonna lie... (( just the mere fact that I'm sitting here typing on a "HAIR" board is proof enough  ))

Ok, I'm coming clean also... Iris yesterday, I was sitting here, clicking on ur hair album every 3 mins, waiting for ur baby's hair updates  ... then I'm gone sit here & say I'm not as obsessed as I was during my transition... girl, I'm lying  ... I'm prolly even MORE obsessed now that I'm natural.

I KNOW I HAVE A PROBLEM :weird: :wallbash: :whyme:

I am! If some store I go in has a haircare aisle, I can't leave without looking. Even if I KNOW I have no plans for buying anything, I just like looking to see what's there. I pick up bottles, read the ingredients, comment aloud on the presence of ammonium lauryl sulfate, sniff conditioners ...I usually go up and down both sides of the aisle twice before I can bear to rip myself away.

I'm laughing cuz I'm a "sniffer" too
When I'm in the Asian BSS, I often feel like I'm stealing :sekret: sumthing... I'll hold the bottle close, look both ways out of the corner of my eyes, unscrew the tops then take a couple of quick sniffs  .... I have to keep it on the low cuz the bss don't allow anyone to unscrew their products... but shoot, I MUST know how the product smells before I spend my money on it :look: . The mgr is used to my "sniff" test now... if a product comes in that he thinks I'll be interested in, he'll point it out & tell me to "sniff" to see if I like it

Yep, I need counseling!!!!

Nope...its my own special mix

I can be too tired to take my dishes into the kitchen, too tired to do any more reading or homework, too tired to check my email one last time before going to bed...but you can bet your bottom dollar I'm never too tired to moisturize my hair, tie it up, and take my vitamins.

I feel you on this- I washed my hair at 2am b/c I HAD too.

True, True!!!
Whenever I pack, the 10 extra pounds are just my products!!

I have! Friends and family get tired of hearing me say something about hair! I can't help it! :weird:

My parents have banned me from buying anymore hair products. So whenever i want to buy sth, i make sure i have my school bag and sneak it into the house. i ordered sth from online and had to get it shipped to my friends house........

Now this is just plain rediculous....... You have become a hair product smuggler!

haha...i have no choice. My dad isnt even in the country and he's trying to stop me! You gotta empathise with me

In the beginning I was obssessed but I have calmed alot since then. I try not to worry alot about my hair. Once I got close to my goal length, I started to worry that something would happen or I would do something wrong and my hair would suffer. But I rarely worry now, although I hardly ever deviate from my regime out of fear that I might damage my hair if I try something new.

Let me find out that there's a Smuggling Ring going on!! :D
Is there a Task Force out there also! :sekret:

I used to be.

I've calmed down though. Now I just follow my regimen... my extensive regimen. I'm cool about it now :)

I have a question too, for pj's!

See what heppened to me is that my pjitis changed a little bit. I used to go out and buy bunches of new products to try. Now, I know what works for me.... so I buy bottles and bottles of the same stuff!

I have about 15 jars and bottles of conditioners, 4 bottles of oils, 3 bottles of leave-ins, etc... but all of the oils are the same oils, all of the leave ins are the same, and I have like groups of 3 in conditioners. Funny, huh?

My hair obsession has decreased A LOT. When I first came on here it was to learn everything I could...now since I know what my hair wants and needs, there's not really much to research anymore. But I still love the hairboards regardless.

Ya'll trying to be all up in my business...none of your business what I am hiding behind my back, in my closets....under my bed...and what is in that small safe with hairs all over it....sheesh...okay so maybe I am being a little defensive.....gotta go....someone is calling my name...(somebody called "Herb"...Ava Cado...Olive Oil, Castro Oil...and my friend Ylang Ylang...) okay so I am not exactly admitting it....oh...well...you know..... I wouldn't outright deny it....Well..., YES, okay...I confess....Yes Yes Yes!!!!!Bonjour

Yeah, I've graduated into buying in bulk... If Costco sold most of my stuff I would be in trouble!

It's a phase and for some it passes..lol. I was and now not so much. It depends on what else is going on in my life. Also where your hair is. I"m pretty happy with my hair right now so I obsess less often. It's soft, strong, healthy and I'm 2" to my goal. My idea now is to just let it be and quit trying SO many new things. At some point you do settle into the products which have been a God-send and you just let your hair do its thing :)

But I do have to agree on this one. It's another form of the "disease" I guess. You say to yourself well this worked so why not buy 10 bottles of it. Who needs 10 bottles of the same conditioner? It's not as if you have heard they are discontinuing it..:look:

This is me! I'm so scared I'll do something that will set me back, that I cannot, under any circumstances change my regimen.
I'm also obsessed with other people's hair, in my hair diary (yes another sign of obsession) I write about not only my own hair trials and tribulations but also about my close family and friends. I envy certain qualities of their hair and sometimes wish they would take care of their hair differently. LOL

How do you use your ylang ylang?

Yes!.. I find my self wanting to spend all my money on haircare products. I have managed to avoid alot of the trends; however I have bought alot of new products, but only because I was using all the wrong stuff for my hair pre-LHCF. I was constantly hounding my bf to take pictures of my hair, but finally did it my self. I think deep down inside the reason I got a digital camera was to take hair pictures, but I hide it by taking pics of my son 24/7. Even though I find my self snaping the back of my head just to check my bun sometime.. :look: I'm always looking at hair, wanting to do other peoples and tell them what they need..So yea, I guess you could say I have become Obsessed!!!..

That was a definite reson on my list to explain my camera purchase... I wanted to start my album journey!

Nope! I'm not obsessed at all. I mean, so what if I've filled up our master bathroom's cabinet with the majority of my hair care products leaving room for only a bottle of mouthwash and a sponge. (everything else has to go in the upstairs laundry room), and now I'm filling up the downstairs guest bathroom with my hair care products. I'm not a product junkie either.

So what if when I'm the store (no matter which one) I'm looking for better bargains on hair care products even when I don't need them. And I load up on some stuff at the beauty supply house because I'm afraid they'll stop making it.

So what if I watch my hair constantly.

So what if when my hair's growth slows down I panic and run to my nearest GNC store, or load up on V-8 Splash juice because it has carrot juice in it, and I load up on carrots. That don't mean a thing.

So what if I don't go to hair salons because of my fear that any and every stylist will take my hair out.

So what if everytime I'm getting ready to go on a trip, the first thing I pack is... you guessed it HAIR CARE PRODUCTS!

Naw... ain't a thing wrong with me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I can't deny my obsession. I have to stop myself from offering suggestions to others on how they should take care of their hair.
Once some women at school were commenting on how much my hair had grown since my BC.
Me: Yeah, it's about 5.5 inches now
Them: Oh, she KNOWS how long it is! (amused)
Me: Well, yeah I know  (I felt kinda busted just then).
I've started taking supplements to encourage faster hair growth, which is something I NEVER used to believe in.
I have more (and more expensive) hair products than ever before.
I cringe at the thought of my ends not being protected.
I spend way too much time on this hair board (and others, but this is my fave). I log on just about every day, if only for a few minutes, but usually for hours. In fact, that's the reason I haven't even installed my TurboTax yet. :naughty: Must...pull...self...away.

Say word... I just completed my Turbo Tax myself....
But I had to log on first!
