I got my hair done in kinky twists over a week ago and they looked very neat and well done. I've been getting compliments on them every day. So last night I decided to wash and condition my hair. After doing so I notice that my real hair is sticking up weirdly. I untwist one, and low and behold a 5-6 inch clump of my hair falls out. I do a few more and the same thing happens. I immediately text the girl to call me. After she does, I tell her the situation and she says she wants me to come back to her shop and see what's going on.... Ok, that's fine.

As the night progresses into morning, I wake up angrier than I was before I went to sleep. I text the girl and tell her I want a full refund... She texts back saying she doesn't give refunds, and I should just come to her shop to show if my hair was cut, like "I said it is."

Mind you, when she got done doing my hair she went over each twist and snipped the excess weave that was sticking up off. I understand that it could've been done accidentally, but to not give me my money back? Are you out your mind? My whole purpose for getting them was to give my hair a break from heat and chemicals. Not to get my hair chopped off.... which, BTW I now have to invest in a major haircut.

I'm going to file a claim this evening in court when I get off work. I know if I got to her shop to show her anything I'll be leaving in handcuffs for choking her out.... :wallbash:

Please pray for my strength yall. I will show before and after pics once all of them are down.

This is super scary and crazy what you are explaining. Please show us pics. I can't figure it out.

But it really does not matter what I think the point is she seems to have cut your real hair. If you can I would file a claim, I wish you luck and yes I am praying you to have strength to get through this.

Please keep us posted.

FYI- going to the shop to show her your hair would work in your favor in a court preceding. When filing lawsuit again a business who provides a service. Plantiff must allow defendant a chance to right the wrong.

You are definitely right...I've seen that many times on the People's Court.

Thank you. I will do so... I will make sure someone goes with me though. But the only way to right this situation is to give me back all of my hair. Settling for a refund is the least I can do.

OMG! that's horrible! I have a similar story of incompetence- so I know how devastating it is. I'm really sorry this happened to you and she BETTER give you a full refund and some products for compensation

:bighug: I am SO sorry this happened to you. Here you are bending over backwards to grow your hair and this incompetent cuts it off. I would be in tears.

Sorry, these may come out big. The first pic is of my hair on January 15th, a week before I got the twists. The 2nd is the first one I took down last night. The others are of a couple of twists, showing the hair sticking out, and how much hair came out when I untwisted them some.

I hope this works out in your favor.

I guess its just me but I dont get how snipping a few fly aways in one kinky twist equates to clumps of hair falling .

It seems more like she meant to.

Yea they will cut your hair. I posted about my experience a couple months ago. I got my kinky twists done about 2 months ago. Luckily I saw them going up and down the braid with a pair of scissors on a customer when they were finished. When I was done I was like No, I do not want my hair cut. I had to tell about 5 or 6 times because they would still try to do it when I wasn't paying attention. Even the owner of the shop was tryna convince me to let them chop cause "It would look neater", "Your hair will grow back", etc. So I left with some of my hair sticking out from the braids not cause it had been cut but because I refused to let them cut it off so it would look "neat" even if they are fly aways. I've been fine.

I don't get it. If it was just the flyaways that she was snipping how are such long strands coming out? Im slow today.:perplexed How did she(the hair stylist) manage to let that happen??? Thats craziness:nono:

Because she simply snipped too deep into the twist. She went and snipped them all individually. That was the only time a pair of scissors has been in my head. And come to find out, when she had hers done, someone made the same mistake and cut her hair!!!!

I have bail money for both of us ,cuz I am on my way down there...

But really they will try to clean up the braids in order to make the style look good and not the health of your hair.. what is her plan of action when you get there? How will she fix the issue?

I never seen them done and I never had them myself so maybe I cant talk but ... why didnt she snip along the SIDES of the twist as opposed to INTO the twist? :perplexed

Maybe Im seeing this all wrong. :nono:

Her snipping along the sides is how my hair got cut. Either my own hair was sticking out as well, or she cut further into the twist to snip the excess off.

Oh ok. I was having a moment:spinning:

This HAD to be intentional. I know some stylist do snip along the braid/twist once they are finished to give it a clean look. But to snip 'in' the twist as opposed to along the length of it tells me she knew exactly what she was doing or if it wasn't intentional she was just being careless. Either was she is in the wrong and SHOULD give you your money back.

Was this you first time going to her?

I hate when I see ppl cutting and snipping into and along the sides the braids...at the very least I always thought it would make the hair uneven and chopped up once the braids are out.

I'm sorry that this happened to you.

ITA. If your own hair was sticking out from the twist, you wouldn't have found long locks when you unraveled the twist because the access hair wouldve been cut off already.

Cutting INTO a twist? I just dont see a reason to that.
She was very sloppy with her work from beginning to the end... from doing sloppy twists that needed a lot of "cleaning up" to her METHOD of cleaning up.

Either way, my hair is ruined, and SHE did it.

ETA, notice in the first pic of chopped hair. It even looks like it was precisely cut across. You can tell it isn't breakage because it's too even.

This happened to me the last time I got braids. I think in my case, it was done with malice. My hair was APL before she braided. She cut "the flyaways" all the way to shoulder length.
