Have any color application tips? Please share!

Finally learning about highlights, lowlights and single color aps and I wonder if my LHCF ladies have any tips (ya'll know ya do) on how to apply the perfect color, how to mix them (either mixing diff. colors OR mixing healthy hair ingredients IN the color like we do for relaxers by mixing them with oils) or how to keep the strands healthy with permanent color.
