A Phobia of Scissors
Hey Ladies,
I have noticed good results in the texture and length of my hair but my ends seem to be a common problem for me. Once I have finished styling my hair with a rollerset, I coat my ends with some castor oil and they look nice. Its only until I go outside(I live in a very humid area

)or exercise that my ends go crazy. They look frizzy and unmanaged even though my hair is all even.I need help how to deal with this because they've already been trimmed. Also, is there any other options in sealing the ends because I only have an electric ceramic flat iron?

Hmmmm...

What seems to work for me and my ends is keracare silken seal (probably b/c that's the only thing i've used

) Or you could try a small amount of heavy moisturizer (ie. profective healthy ends). Mind you, i don't wear my hair out often so i haven't really 'tested' these things in our crazy NY humidity yet so hopefully, somebody with more experience will chime in.

BTW, welcome to the board

It sounds like you need a good anti-frizz serum. I use a serum on my ends daily after I moisturize my hair. I highly recommend Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine serum (

I understand that you can still seal your ends with an electric flat iron as long as unplug it(once it's hot) before sealing.

or you may just simply want to keep your ends covered/or in protective styles on days where humidity is the main order of the day......

U can use a regular plug in flat iron if its unplugged, but I understand not wanting to risk doing anything to your ceramic iron, especially if it was expensive. What I did was buy a regular old flat iron on sale for 6.99 at the BSS. I intend to use that for this purpose bc I would be PI$$ED if I ruined my CHI!

Havent gotten to try it yet bc Im due for a relaxer and havent been handling my hair. Ill try this first wash afterwards...

PS I FEEL YOUR PAIN! Im a central floridian! When I walk outside my ends puff out like popcorn(my stylists exact words...hahaha)

Thanks for all your suggestions ladies. I plan to try to seal my ends with my ole school Gold N Hot flat iron after my next wash and go on a search for that Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine

(Thanks Mikki). Hopefully they sell it at the local Walmart. I got to get these ends together before school starts.
