Hated it!!!!

I hate:

-ANYTHING in Optimum's BreakThrough line!!
-Pink Oil "moisturizer". When my hair was tow' up in the past, I loaded the Pink on. It did nothing but dry my hair out even more. Is alcohol the first ingredient in that thing?!!
-Infusium 23 Leave In Conditioner. Did nothing but make my hair hard.
-Nexxus Humectress by itself. I now mix it with Kiehl's Extra Strength Conditioning Rinse for Dry Hair. Otherwise, it leaves my hair hard and a b**ch to comb out.
-Optimum hair creams - the whole lot of them.
-Clairol's Textures & Tones Light Hair Oil.

My hate list is so long:

Products I absolutely detest:

* Drug store products that have the proud black lady (eg luster pink oil, perm repair etc). they really need to work on work on their product lines and not be so grease dependent!

*Aphogee protein treatment ( the one that stinks & gets hard). It left my hair a stiff brittle unmanageable mess thet even elucence couldn't tame.

*Fantasia Products, so many people rave about them I wish I could join the band wagon.

*Optimum Break-Free Leave in left my hair a dry greasy mess. Reconfirms my first point.

Products I hate b/c they were so expensive but were just okay:

Sebastian Potion 9 (DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!)

Kiehls panthenol Coconut & Letchin (Nice conditioner, why is it $25 for 4oz!!!)

That was supposed to be Optimum Break-Through, not Break Free LOL

One more thing I hate Carol's Daughter's Hair Milk. Who say's all natural can't ne nasty!!!

Ditto on the Kiehl's creme with silk groom. Too dry and drying.

Also, hated the black and Sassy Cream Set.

Surprisingly love Profectiv Break Free Daily Leave in Strengthener

This thread was a great idea!

Products I HATED:
- Lusters Pink oil moisturizer (made my hair dried out and hard)
- Affirm lye relaxer (burned my scalp, very harsh..the no lye version is much gentler on my scalp)
- Perm Repair (made my hair drier)
-Always conditioner (didn't moisturize my hair)
-Lusters Glossing spray (didn't leave my hair shiny, scent too powerful)
- ORS Hair Mayo (left my hair too greasy & sticky)
-Keracare Itchy Scalp conditioner (nothing special about this one, too pricey)
-Aubrey J.A.Y shampoo( stripped my hair and dried it out)

That's all I can think of right now! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hated:
<ul type="square">
[*]Sebastian Potion #9 (must be made by a real witch)
[*]Pink OIl Moisturizer (can you say, "oil slick"?)
[*]Aubrey Organics J.A.Y. Shampoo (I lost hair trying to untangle.....I even tried to dilute it which didn't help.)
[*]LeKair Cholesterol Conditioner (Queen Helene reigns supreme!)
[*]Lamour Protein Conditioner (stripped my semi-perm color...made my hair go snap, crackle, pop!)
For those that hate the Aubrey's GPB-- please elaborate!

Like BLKMANE, I hated the Lamaur Protein Conditioner (the jug with the bone marrow in it). HORRIBLE! I nearly passed out because of the smell alone. It was like pouring a bottle of strong cheap perfume all over me! And I don't even think it did much for my hair in general.

I also hated the Aubrey's J.A.Y. conditioner. Overhyped and overpriced, it left my hair sooooooooooooo dry. Even the GPB couldn't help detangle my hair. I swear, that shampoo made VO5 seem like Creme of Nature! That's how stripping it was! But in fairness, I remember reading on an old hair board from Jade21 that Aubrey's changed the formula for the shampoo, so I might have picked up the old formula instead. But that's the only Aubrey product that backfired on me. The rest of the shampoos worked just fine /images/graemlins/smile.gif!

Kemi Moyst Shampoo and Conditioner: HORRIBLE! Especially the conditioner. I couldn't comb the conditioner in my hair to save my life! It was like I poured cake batter on my hair. It did nothing for me. The shampoo was OK, but not worth the money in my opinion.

ORS Hair Mayonnaise: I know this is a board favorite but this also did nothing for me. It would work perfectly for the "no-poo" routined b/c after I used it my hair felt squeaky clean like I shampooed! The ONLY way this works for me is if I pour A LOT of olive oil in the jar. A LOT.

That's all I can think of for now /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Hi fudge6,

I haven't noticed you on the board before. If you are new to the board, Welcome! I love the dolls in the link. Really cute. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

products i hate:

pink oil: made hair dry

wild growth oil: stinks and made my hair greasy looking

Ors hair mayo: made hair dry and tangled mess

The whole Soft sheen frizz free line

Any holding spray

this thread had me cracking up! and if this doesn't illustrate that people respond differently to everything, i don't know what does...

i just gave away a bag of crap a couple of weeks ago, but here's the stuff i can remember that i don't like:

<ul type="square"> [*]Aphogee Treatment: not only does it stink to high heaven, making my hair hard served no purpose than to say it DID something. the moisturizing conditioner you're supposed to use with it sucks too.
[*]Infusium 23 leave-in: knowing it may be the last thing you're gonna put on your hair, you think they'd make it smell better. it works okay, but dang!!
[*]KeraCare leave-in: as if my dandruff isn't bad enough, i gotta add more white specks with this one. big disappointment!!
[*]ACV rinse: this is just not for a porous, flaky scalp. not only did it burn the sh*t outta me, i smelled like pickes for three days even after washing and conditioning again.
[*]Motions CPR: worked fine, but also HATE the specks. plus it makes me smell like a banana for days.
the stuff i love:

<ul type="square"> [*] KeraCare Hydrating Shampoo and Humecto Creme Conditioner: must haves!!!
[*]S-Curl and World of Curls activators: give all the moisture i need to retain length.
[*]Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom: not crazy about the smell, but it's really effective for breakage when i wear my hair down.
i know there are more in each category, but i gotta get ready for work. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

HATE: /images/graemlins/mad.gif
Kemi Moyst Leave In
Flip &amp; Shag Spray it's just alcohol laden spritz
Aphogee the stinky reconstructor I think it made my hair break more

Hi Pebbles!

I'm actually a regular poster most of the time, but I haven't had any time lately. Also, I usually use the dolls from the website link for my avatar, so that could also be the reason why I don't look too familiar /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I remembered another product:

Aquamarine conditioner by Revlon; TERRIBLE! I know it probably wasn't made with "our" hair in mind but really, it could've been formulated better. It was slimy, had a funny feel to it. It smelled weird too. Never again!

<ul type="square"> [*]Pink Oil [*]Any Type of Oil Sheen [*]Aura Conditioning Elixer, syrupy and non penatrating [*]Bio-Strand Shampoo [*]Most Shampoos [*]Didn't Hate but didn't like, lol: Main N' Tail Conditoner coated hair [*]Shea butter (buy itself, I now put it in a mix and it works well) [*]Pure Aloe Vera Gel by itself, works fine initially but my hair gets drier, and drier with each application [*]Fantasia IC Braid Spray- had me running right back to jherri juice, this IC is very sticky and non moisturizing [*]Any Hair Gel by Suave [*]ORS Temple Balm [*]Aphoghee!!! How could I forget, I swear both times I used it trying to be CAREFUL my hair broke (lol, I'm serious) And their follow up conditioner sux
Um... I guess that's it so far, I'm sure there are more that I just can't remember /images/graemlins/grin.gif

New Purchase, but haven't used
Elucence Shampoo and Conditioner
Bio Restorative Moisturizing Conditioner (Bath &amp; Body Works)
Bio Leave-in Fortifier (Bath &amp; Body Works)

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't do it!! I still have my Bio products from B&amp;B, and they really fried my hair to a crisp. --And without any heat. A shampoo &amp; conditioner combo that can do THAT is really talented /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

<font color="blue"> I was hatin profective anti breakage strengthening mega moisturizer until I tried using it on my hair wet. Now i'm gald that I didn't throw it away!! It doesn't contain mineral oil. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm liking the WGO. I finally found a place that sold it. I like using it on my hair wet.
I still don't like : profective end srengthener
fantasia ice promade
fantasia leave in ( made my skin break out)

Great post Beana

I too hated LeKair cholesterol. (Queene Helen works much better 4 me personally) It claimed to detangle but left my hair tangled more and it dried it out. My aunt is swears by Queen Helen

Hey yall.

I tried the Lottabody Cream Wrapping Lotion and I loved it! I had much better results compared to their liquid stuff! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hated:
-----

- Dark &amp; Lovely Intensive Protein conditioner: like water
- Pink oil, the regular: gross feeling
- Dax pommade, the green one: stickiest thing ever
- All castile soaps: Aubrey's, Dr. Bronner. Drying, drying, drying!
- Jason's stuff: like water for conditioners and drying for shampoos
- Infusium leave-in: like water
- Jojoba oil: man, like I didn't put anything in

Didn't hate but disappointing:
-----------------------------

- Bumble &amp; Bumble super rich conditioner, the rinse out: like any regular cholesterol
- Any regular cholesterol: Boy, do I have to comb!!!
- L'Oreal mega moisture therapy, the cream: so so. Would expect better for the price

Love:
----

- Creme of Nature shampoo: that's my 2002 epiphany!! So good that I don't even need a conditioner
- Olive oil as a leave in: unbeatable
- Kemi oyl shea butter pommade: So far so good

And my vitamin routine!!! That's part of my hair products too...

To be tried:
------------

- ORS mayo
- Kenra Intensive Emollient

F.

I'd like to add to my list of products I hate... Redken All Soft Heavy Cream. I couldn't wait to try this and I've used it 3 times now and it's NOT all that....especially for the price of $15. /images/graemlins/mad.gif I am quickly using it up(mixing it with Motions CPR and oilive oil). Obviously I won't be buying this again...

I agree with you Karonica, Lottabody Creme is the bomb! It is nothing like the lotions. I use it to set my hair wet or dry and of course to wrap. I'm on my 4th jar of this. I haven't even thought of using another setting lotion.

Aphogee leave in vitamin liquid thing-made my hair hard and tangled
everything Pantene-it basically dried my hair out
Pink oil moisturizing lotion-greasy then severely dry
dang-no wonder my hair was breaking off

SweetCocoa, I have to agree with you here about the Redken All Soft Heavy Cream. And I just posted a thread earlier this week about how this product was a keeper! /images/graemlins/blush.gif I used it last week for the first time after putting in my semi permanent, which comes with its own conditioner. My hair was fairly soft but I figured that I needed to use the All Soft Heavy Cream with the accompanying All Soft shampoo (which I didn't have last week) to really see dramatic results.

Well, the results are dramatic all right - my hair feels hard and brittle. I now see that the only reason it came out okay last week is because of the conditioner that came with the semi permanent color! I put some ORS Carrot Oil, the yellow cream, in my hair this morning to moisturize it. I can barely feel a difference (and for you carrot oil lovers out there, you know that's pretty bad!). I think that, as you did, I'll have to mix this conditioner with other things till it's finished. And I won't buy it again.

Oh well, I came, I saw, I tried. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

1. Pink lotion ---- I can't stand this stuff coz its extremely drying. Funny thing is it works well on my sister's natural hair...
confused.gif

I bought a REALLY BIG bottle of the infusium 23 leave-in yesterday and today I find these not so encouraging reviews about it...
crazy.gif

-Redken All soft heavy cream. Glad I got a sample off eBay before I paid full price!

-Breakthru entire line. Made my hair greasy and limp

-Pink Oil. Did the same as the above

-Dabur Vatika hair oil.

OK I KNOW this is an old old post but I HATE

DETESTED PRODUCTS
Nexxus Humectress doesn't detangle, doesn't moisturize total waste of $$$$$ AWFUL product
Any placenta based product
Tropical Products (Dominican conditioners) didn't do a thing
Not crazy about Profective products
HATE INFUSIUM 23 leave in!

1. Pink Oil
2. TCb Oil sheen
these made my hair really dry.
3. Anything Apple Pectin - did not work at all.

We may be hair twins NayNay! I, too, hate the profectiv (and the smell drives me nuts), didn't get much from the Infusium leave-ins(swtiched to the Aphogee Pro-V lieave in), got nothing out of the Tropical. Don't know about the Humectress because I have the Suave knockoff and I always mix it with another conditioner, and I haven't use placenta products in forever. Do you have what works for you posted somewhere? I need to nail down an actual regime
