I just got the book and I think it has some really good info black women should know about. Perhaps then we can be set free of weaves and letting people suck blood from us.

I read her book and believe it is one of the greatest hair book in general. As for the weave statement, I wear weaves/wigs as a protective style not b/c I need to wear one as for I choose to wear them.

I ordered it to support a member who has helped so many.

I LOVE THE BOOK from what I read. Being Honest I didn't get to read to much. I bought it to reference when needed. She is amazing and has been a GREAT help to us all.

I agree. I am so reluctant to buy black hair books because usually the author is relating their own personal hair journey and trying to get you to follow their routine but every person is different and what works for you may not work for me. Audrey's book is cool because it is strickly science. A real good read. I am not a fan of weave simply because it's gotten to the point that black women feel they NEED it plus we are making folks rich that absoluetly hate us.

excellent book, the title says it all!! very easy to understand. I am thinking of getting an extra copy and donate it to my local college hairdressing department.

I get what your saying b/c I know some women who depend on weaves b/c they have neglected their own natural hair for artificial hair. I have been told many times that I "dont" need a weave but have explained that I choose to wear them b/c it is my preferred protective style. I do wish that more women would actually take care of their natural hair (relaxed or natural) they could use weave/wigs as a styling option instead of a
necessity (in some women's eyes).

I have read the book and it is awesome. There is so much vital information in this book that I will always use it as my go to/ all about hair reference book. I thought I knew some things about growing my hair, but now I know way more. I was enlightened on the subject of terminal length. Audrey explained it in a way that was new to me. This book was a great purchase and worth the investment.

@JJamiah, I thought so! That's a great achievement, Wow! I know it must be good, cause I have her articles on stand-by and boy oh boy they are a treasure in itself. I've been looking for a good book to read, think I found it! :yep: Thank You!

@Leesh Exactly I read her articles too and her post here and she is worth the $$$ she has offered all her knowledge here for free, and her book offers it now in further detail :)

Ordered mine from amazon.com

She's been so helpful. Her posts on here are really good too. Sistaslick really helped me understand the importance of balancing moisture and protein.

I just bought the book and it is excellent, makes me understand the concept of mositure and protein balance more clearer. This is a much needed book for the black hair care community.

I got it a few weeks ago and it's definitely a great read and full of information. I love how the science of hair isn't difficult to understand even for someone like me who hates science lol.

I'm in the midst of reading it right now  It will be a keepsake for generations! if i ever have a child, I will hand it down to them so the future of Black hair care maintenance will continue on.

I am currently reading it and boy am I impressed! I knew it would be good but it has surpassed my expectations - it is excellent! So well researched and written. I'll be sure to write a review on Amazon when I've finished. :)

I am beginning to think that I need this book in my life. I was thinking of compiling a binder with haircare articles and the like, but now it sounds like this book would have it all.
