Has anyone gotten married in Ghana?

I'm just trying to get some help with costings. If you have any tips please let me know

Can you be more specific with what it is you need? My friend is planning her wedding here(Im in Ghana now) in December and I could ask her-I know next to nothing :)

These are some of the popular locations for weddings that I've heard of.

Not me, but are you Ghanaian? Are there Ghanaian aspects to your ceremony? If so, what are they?

With a name like YaaAsantewaa I'd bet she is :yep: Can't get much more Ghanaian than that.

Whoops sorry, Forgot to come back. Yes I am Ghanian. I've been struggling with vendors over charging me on everything! Like I'm royalty! One quoted me $150 per head just for basic decorations, no food, no alcohol and doesn't include the venue. They think everyone overseas can afford to splash money.

Anyway, if anyone can give me some options on who to contact for flowers, chairs and tables etc. I'd be grateful
Thanks

Your best bet would be if you have family or friends in Ghana to help you and you leaving for Ghana very early to put the finishing touches. I got married in Nigeria and my friends sister gave a list of possible venues and after discussing with my sister, I made my final choice. I don't know about Ghana but you can find any vendors you need in Nigeria within a short notice. I basically put together TWO weddings in a 3 month time frame.

Hope that helps.

I can understand what you mean about everyone think you're made of money because you are coming from overseas. $150 per head for flowers? Like jerseygurl said, you should use a family or friend who lives in Ghana to be your front person. That should save you a lot of money.

I'm from the Carribean and they tried to do the same thing to us when they realize we're the one paying for my cousins weddings.

They will rip you off if they can. I bought everything from here that I could. Instead of flowers, I made pomanders (Flower balls) for my bridesmaids and my friend made my bouquet. You can get your flowers here except if you want real flowers and pack them up with your luggage.
