Has anyone ever done anything like this

I got my hair braided, started to cancel but, thought since it would have been a last minute cancellation that it would be bad business on my part since I've known the owner of the braid shop for years.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with the braids, its just that I'm not personally feeling them now. It would really be wasteful for me $$$ to take them down so soon, but, I just want to go back to wearing my other styles.

Any thoughts, or experiences of wasting money on braids/weaves just to take it down quickly?

Give it a few days. More than likely, it will grow on you after you get a couple compliments and get used to the style. I was like this after EVERY trip to the salon.

I agree, give it some time. You could try to keep it in for the month of September and then take it out....if you really can't stand it..then do what you have to do


When I used to wear weaves I used to take it out after 4 weeks. I just wasn't feelin it.

Then I would think I did want it and do my own and take it out after 1 week.

Just wait it out, hon...

I've had braids before and if the stylist didn't do them just "right", I had the scorching desire to remove them that night.

But don't waste money. You might decide you actually LIKE THEM later on.

Plus, your hair has been manipulated enough recently just having them put in. Your hair doesn't deserve it if you take the braids out too soon.

You should PM me some time. Don't you live in the Bay Area?

Oh girl this was me. By the time the hair stylist was done with my hair I just glance at the mirror, tip her, and leave. She would always think that I didn't like it. But like you said after a day or so I was lovin' the new doo.

I have rec'd many compliments. Its just hard for me to adjust to change. I wanted to give my hair a rest.
