A while back, I heard about a new service @ upscale salons, that involves a silcone-based product, that is applied to the hair and "sealed" into the cuticle w/ heat. The results are improved managibilty, shine and closed ends. Now call me ghetto, but I was wondering if I use some clear jazzing and blowdry it into my hair. Cellophane is supposed to seal the ends? I'm not even sure if you use heat w/ jazzing. Can I get some feedback. Do u think my idea will work.

I know you might be able to get a similar result using the clear sebastian colourshines, but I'm don't remember if you use heat with jazzing or not either. Actually, I think you can if you want the color semi permanent, but what I don't remember is if Jazzing is considered a cellophane.
That wasn't too helpful, was it

Ok, I tried it. I rubbed clear Jazzing all thru my hair and Blow dryed it. After I shampooed and rinsed, I noticed it felt alot smoother, and each strand felt a bit thicker. When I towel dried it there was a noticable shine on my ashy brown hair. I combed into a pony tail and used the usual products. It turned out really smooth and sleek. I will definately ad this to my regime once a month or so.

i haven't heard of that process with a silicone based product but Nelson Chan at Estetica in Beverly Hills has a conditioning process where they apply his conditioner to sections of your hair, cover each section with aluminum foil, and then heat each section with a flat iron. (The heat breaks open these little beads in the conditioner, which coat and deep condition the hair strands) After allowing it to cool, they rinse it out and style. It's a method he brought over here from Hong Kong and I think he has a patent on the conditioner.

I had it done about three times within a week after my relaxers to help save it. It helped but I just can't afford it ($100 a session).

Jazzing is a temp color, like Sebastion, but I don't think that it has any conditioning benefit.

Dannie, I normally use Sebastion Colourshine (redality), but didn't want to take a chance during the first trimester of my pregnancy. My stylist said nothing would happen, but I didn't feel comfortable, but I did let her put the clear sebastian on. She said that it was good for my hair, especially after a touch up, but she didn't give specifics, as far as being silicone based or not.

check out growafrohairlong.com
this site has some info on sealing your hair, particularly your ends using aluminum foil and conditioner

i also heard that Jazzing or cellophane is supposed to add softness and sheen your hair

My mom said it coats the hair and smoothes the cuticles provididng shine, but no it doesn't really have any conditioning properties. But figure if your hair is smoother it'll be easier to handle because your cuticle is flat and the strand is coated. I dont know if anybody elses hair turns ashy and dull , but it made my hair a richer brown. It's supposed to seal the ends. The bottle says for semi- permanent "apply heat" by sitting under the dryer. But I think it works better if you use the blow dryer to really open the cuticle.

Maybe, thats what I heard about. Perhaps its not silicone based. That reminds me of a 2+1 treatment. I did one a while back. You apply the conditioner to your hair, and then flat iron into the hair over aluminum foil. It really didn't do much for me. Plus the freaking conditioner is $45 dollars a bottle!

hi i know that clear jazzing will give your hair sheen and smoothness it just does not add any color sebastion and jsazzing are similiar it just depends on what you like most jazzing colors have a strong smell hth

I use this product called smooth and shine that has silicon in it. I use it when I air dry my hair after washing it. It detangles the hair a little. I put it on my hair and then wrap the ends up in a bun then wrap with a scarf. Once it's dry, the top of my hair looks flat ironed and I just have to flat iron the ends. I think that sounds better then putting a semi-perm color in my hair...even if it is clear. It's also great when you blow dry your hair. Makes it feel very silky and shiny.
