Hard while dry comes out while wet?? Why?

I have an issue while my hair is dry its kind of hard but once i add water and put the shampoo and conditioner in it gets really mushy and comes out(alot) its so soft that it tangles while im washing it! I barely comb it while it wet i just simply let it air dry and then detangle. Once im all dry i dont have the mushy problem. What could be the issue?

I use keracare hydrating shampoo and conditioner and i wash weekly

Mushy hair means you're lacking in protein. Protein does help you hair retain moisture so you need to use a reconstructor like Aubrey's GPB as your conditioner and see if that doesn't make a difference. I think finishing your wash with a VERY DILUTE solution of ACV may also help your hair retain moisture and hence softness. You seem to be HYDRATING your hair a lot with the shampoo and conditioner you use but not providing any STRENGTHENING to it. So a DC with GPB (you apply it to dry hair for 15 minutes before your wash when using it as a DC) once a week may help.

Might want to check your porosity. Maybe do a porosity control treament and then a DC?...look up some threads about porosity...sounds like that is the issue you have cause the hair is mushy...Second, the hair being hard when dry....either to much product before drying or too much protein... make sure to dc with moisture condistioner. One that does not contain any protein
