Has this ever happened to you?

If so, did you find out the reason? And what did you do about it?

Thanks

i found that if i used too much oil before flat ironing that my hair would be lifeless. i wouldn't recommend this for everyone, but i found that blowdrying my hair on low while running a comb through it softened my hair up considerably.

Ive had it happen but the cause is from using the wrong product or too much product beforehand. All I really need is a watery leave in and a light serum.

Hmmm.......

Here's the thing: I want to get my hair straight just so that I can pull it back in a phony-tail or bun. With that said, greasy hair would actually be better for me. But I still don't want it hard. I was thinking about using a bunch of Mango Butter before blow-drying and then flat-ironing it. Do you all think this will make my hair hard? Should I just use a light leave-in even with the blow-dry?

oh ok, u know, I really forgot u are natural. u are using it to stretch your hair long enough to attach a phonytail? If so I THINK u MIGHT be able to get away with blow drying only.

I went through a period where I was nearly natural, I had about an 2-3 inches of relaxed hair and the rest was natural and it was about 6 months of new growth because I hadnt relaxed it in that long. It took work but at the time I was just fed up with my hair and didnt know what to do with it so I would wash it and use any and every tool I could to get it up into a teenyweeny ponytail to attach hair. When it was wet, I would put some oil and gel in it, then comb it up into a ponytail and use haircombs, bobbypins to hold the hair that wasnt long enough. I would tie it down till it dried and it worked fairly well. I was alternating between just tracks of hair wrapped around into a phony pony and drawstrings but I was afraid the drawstring would blow off my head! haha.

Anyway, my point of all the rambling is since I could get mine back even without heat, the blow dryer alone might get it easy enough to manage for u to pull it up.

I would try using just a leave in and some oils, along with a straightening/relaxing balm to help straighten it while blow drying. either that or airdry then flat iron.

Yep. I had the setting too high. Never again. I got so frustrated that I just cut my ends off, approximately 1 inch. I was VERY upset at the time but I'm happy that I did it. My hair looks much healthier.
