Happy Sabbath...

That is good news blazingthru! Happy sabbath everyone!!! The weather is really nice here in KC- might stay outdoors today

How was your sabbath ladies (and lurking gentlemen:look:)?

Mines was very um, rest filled. I got alot of rest!!!:yawn:

No worries- i spent time in prayer and the Word as well.:yep:
 
Wonderful. I had a great sabbath I had lunch with a member of the church and relax for the rest of the evening at her house. It was a nice outting. I think I am going to host it at my house in a few weeks and have movies right after I got a few good moves to watch. The ultimate gift is a great movie not really spiritual but a good movie anyway.

Anything that honors God & gives glory to only Him.

We have worship to welcome in the Sabbath. Then during the time we pray, study the Bible, have Bible discusions, go to church, visit the sick/shut-in, fellowship- lots of potlucks :) and spend quality time with God. People do different things based on their interests or ministries. I'm in a music group so we also provide music for church services and have gospel concerts on Sabbaths.

I'm still figuring out what is acceptable and what i should not be focused on. I heard someone say 'are you doing something that you wouldn't feel ashamed of if Jesus were sitting right beside you?' Of course that should be principle for everyday living but it's a good thing for me to remember on Sabbath.
 
Hope you all had a blessed Sabbath! Also, don't worry Jenibo about what to do and what not to do on the Sabbath. Allow the holy spirit to speak to your heart on this matter. It will let you know when something is not glorifying Jesus Christ and convict you of it. :yep:

Its like a holiday, On Friday after you completed all that you needed to do its time for relaxing and thinking on the many blessings you have recieved throughout the week. We spend time in prayer, reading the bible, singing or watching a Christian movie. or just fellowshiping with one another. We wake up Saturday and prepare for service. I prepare a meal ( something I make really well, or something I wouldn't make but on a holiday so since every Sabbath is a Holy Day I would prepare it) to take to service with me either Thursday night or Friday before the sunsets and I bring it with me to service and warm it up and serve it along with others and we just have such a good time. We really have a lot of fun just fellowshipping and hearing others testamony. I stay until sunset, theres some services until 5pm or later sometimes I stay for that. that is how we worship on the Sabbath.
 
Also to clarify, we worship Christ everyday but only one day is required according to the bible to give him our whole complete day. A day in the bible is from evening until evening. So from Friday evening until Saturday evening is Sabbath for everyone not just SDA's :)

Isaiah 58:13-14


13If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it

Happy Sabbath everyone. I made veg chili and honey cornbread for potluck and I hope its enough and its good. We had snow and some of the roads are very icy. Going to Sabbath School have a wonderful day. May the Lord richly bless all of you.
 
Happy Sabbath ladies. I'm snowed in but have been tuned into Praizevision.com. As much as I don't like the difficulties that snow causes, it is absolutely beautiful! God is amazing...
