hairstyling relaxed hair post cowash

I was wondering how anyone else with relaxed hair styled after a cowash. I cowashed for the first time this morning and Im trying to minimize heat to my hair so Im airdrying but Im not sure how its going to turn out once its completely dry. I cowashed with Keracare Humecto conditioner and CON Nourishing conditioner. I also did a reconstructor with NEW Era. I rinsed applied CON leave in and im airdrying. I havent applied any oils to my hair yet and was wondering if my results would be best if I applied oils once my hair is completely dry or partially dry. What regimes are you ladies doing?

I usually either wet bun or do a braidout after I co-wash. If I wet bun then I apply a heavy amount of a creamy leave in and my oil while wet, otherwise my hair will be a dry brittle mess. If I'm doing a braidout then I apply a creamy leave in, let it air dry loose about 60% then apply a little more leave in and some oil and braid.

I cowash, in the morning and then partial bun (hairs not long enough for a full bun yet, so i just tuck my ends and pin) under a half wig for the day. I dont know how to wear my hair out now, and I have not become a pro and braid outs yet, so Im sticking to the half wig until i gain some more length..

I either do a braidout and let airdry or I airdry then put into a bun, wet bunning doesn't let my hair dry all the way and gives me breakage.

After the hair is dry is it usually curly? Do u guys eventually have to use heat to straighten your hair back out? Thanks for all the replies. I'm working on uploading a picture but im unsuccessful so far. :<(

I can't air dry because it ends up being dry and stringy, and not curly or straight enough to look good.

If I do a braid-out for a curly look, my hair stays moisturized for longer. I use a leave-in and seal the ends with oil while it's still wet.

If you want it straight, you could try a rollerset.

I co-wash at night after I workout, so I just usually let it airdry using the scarf method then once it's dry I'll do a flexirod set for the following morning.

As far as my regimen, I co-wash with Abba Pure Moisture, AO HSR and a little avocado oil. I don't rinse out all of the conditioner, I leave a small trace amount behind. I then spray my hair with my own moisturizing concoction. And once my hair is fully dry, I'll moisturize with a little conditioner and seal with a little Macadamia Nut oil.

:perplexed Me and rollersets dont get along too well, my hair usually ends up very poofy and unmanageable, I always end up flat ironing it out. Im also trying to stretch relaxers so my new growth wont cooperate with the rest of my hair, my hair is untrainable:grin:

Completely off topic but your hair is so gorgeous.

I always do my co-washes at night time.I'll either do a braid-out or twist-out on damp hair and allow it to dry overnight. When I wake up in the morning I just un-ravel the braids and go.

Hmmm, twist out on damp hair....that's a good idea! Do you do two-strand twists or flat twists?

1. Apply leave in and wet bun for 30 minutes then take hair down to air dry completely (I use a headband or scarf to lay down the front)
OR
2. Apply leave in, airdry till 80% dry, then put in twists or cornrows for twistouts/braidouts (e.g. in siggy)

I have only done rollersets like 4 times this year so I won't call it an everyday hairstyle, it's more like a hairstyle for a special occassion.

I do a few different things, I do a twist out or braid out. But I also airdry using the ponytail method w/ a scarf to lay down my new growth, or I do a simple air dry using the scarf method.

I like you am trying to stretch for longer than my normal 8 weeks, going for 10-12 this time around. Also I'm not using heat this summer. So I have been rollersetting and drying under the dryer or airdrying...and also braidouts. cowash...dc...leave ins...braid my hair in about 10 plaits...roll the ends on soft rollers. I go to bed and take it down and style it in the AM...so far so good...and its allowing me to cowash about 2-3x/wk. You can find a lot of good tutorials on youtube.com for braidouts. chinablk is the one that I mimicked!!
