Hairstyle for Summer Wedding.

Hey ladies, I will be getting married at the very end of July on a Cruise ship to the Bahamas and I am leery that my hair will not go to well. The reason is that the ceremony will take place in the humid hot Miami, Florida. If I wear my hair natural, it will frizz up, especially if I do a braidout style and I am not sure if a press n’ curl will hold. Any suggestions? Pic?

I was thinking about braids with extensions, but do not find most braid style elegant. If I get a sewn in-it has to be a full weave since I am natural – I hate full weaves!

What a girl to do?!!!

Could you talk a little bit about how a destination/cruise wedding works? Like, do you have to do anything before hand to make sure the wedding in legal state side? Congrats by the way!

Thanks Avaya for these videos...I am getting some great ideas from these, especially with the second video, because this is how I where my hair often in its natural state.

Thanks also for the congrats! Royal cruiselines offer shipboard and shoreside weddings. The cost is pricey, but their coordinators do everything for you. Since I would like my family to see me wed, I have it set up for the day of the cruise before the boat sails,thus the wedding would be held in Miami, FL instead of the Bahamas (our destination). I am not sure how it would be if I had decided on a beach wedding in the bahamas...I will get back to you on that one!

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!!!

If you choose to do extension braids, you can create a very elegant look. I got married in June and I had individual extension braids. I'm not at home so I can't post a pic, but the pic is actually somewhere on the board b/c another member asked about wedding day hairstyles for her sister's wedding & I posted my wedding pic.

Anyway, my husband's stepmother & her friend put my hair in a french roll. Then they pinned it w/ bobby pins & a special pearl-like hair clip that I had bought from Target. Then they put a calla lily and baby's breath in the braids.
