I never priced thier products, are the more expensive than other high end products, Mitchell, Keracare, Rusk, etc.??

I'm not a stickler for natural ingredients. But the products are mostly chemicals. I thought man made chemicals were cheap.

Go to the site and check out the ingredient list. Now say Linoleamidopropyl Ethyl Dimonium Ethosulfate (&) Diethyl Lauramine Isostearate three times fast.

I can't pronounce that first ingredient, but from the info I found..it's sounds like it would be quite good for your hair:

Linoleamidopropyl Ethyldimonium Ethosulfate
Applications: Provides enhanced combing characteristics and manageability to hair.

Found this info at:
http://www.phoenix-chem.com/phoenix/catemol.html

Apparently, it's in a lot of hair care products...Aussie, Sebastian, etc. I just did a search on google.

I also found it listed on this website:
http://www.gina.antczak.btinternet.co.uk/CU/IL.HTM

It's listed as an anti-static ingredient.

Researching these ingredients is kinda fun! Maybe we could start a thread titled: 'What's in your haircare products?'

Those ingredients are in the CC for Ends. I product that I do like and do believe works like they claim. But I don't think 4 oz. of a product loaded with mass produced chemicals should cost $17. It's a good product. Just overpriced, IMO.

I really want to try the CC for Ends, but that price is quite prohibitive. I'm going to send an e-mail to see why it costs so much!

It really is a good product. But a little goes a long way. My guess is that they know you're only going to buy one (at the most, two) jars every year or so. I think that's why the price is so high.

I have a cousin who loves it. And she's a real cheapskate.
grin.gif
She's the one who sent me the products from the line that she didn't like. She uses the CC all over her hair.
ohwell.gif
She also likes the Oil for the Hair for blow drying and pressing her natural hair.

They charge all that money...you would at least think they wouldn't mind sending you a small sample...I'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive to put a little bit in a packet so people have samples...it probably would increase their business. In the e-mail I sent...I also asked why they don't send samples...I wonder how soon I'll receive a response.

I thought it was...

If you go to the original Wanakee site (the URL is on this site somewhere--I lost it...) the stories are identical. Maybe they became the property of hairoil.com when they bought her out.
confused.gif

They need to let people know that those are Wanakee's words because some people may go to the site today for the first time, and have no clue as to who the person with waist length hair is (as she refers to herself on that page).

Sassy,

IYHO (In your humble opinion)...how does the CC for Ends compare to the Healthier Hair in a Bottle oil?

Or am I comparing apples to oranges?

They responded pretty fast to my e-mail. Less than a week. It was kind of nasty, too.

I said something like, "I doubt new customers will buy products by a has been in a bad wig." About 2 seconds later, I wished I had an "unsend" button... I hoped they wouldn't remember me when several months later I placed an order!

But I was hot when I saw that photo of BJ in that awful wig!

That's very possible, even probable.

I've never used the CC all over my hair like I do the HHIB. But I think it would be too heavy. On me anyway... Like I said, my cousin uses it as a daily hairdressing on her type 3 hair. The CC alone kept my ends moisturized (I had a lot of relaxed hair the last time I used it). And I didn't even apply it every day!

I'm gonna have to dig this stuff up and try it again...

I think you guys should realize that the cremes, esp.ly the Constant Care for Ends are intended for relaxed women who want to keep their hair looking straight and to maintain their ends. Your straightened ends don't revert (get wavy or curly) AT ALL after you apply the creme.

I use these products if I want to maintain or stretch a roller set for a couple of extra days. Putting Profective BreakFree (water-based) on the curls would revert them to frizz, but CC for Ends (like Vaseline but with tiny grains of something) won't. It's a waste (of $$$ IMO) to use CC for Ends after CO washes when I'm airdrying and happy with nappy. I've never tried it.

I can't say if the chemicals in CC for ends strengthens hair, but of course it doesn't moisturize. There's no water in it.

Thanks Sassy and Megonw!

Another funny thing is...their product called OIL FOR THE HAIR doesn't actually contain oil! What's the deal?
____________________________________________________

An important oil that coats the hair with a brilliant shine without being too heavy or greasy. Protects hair against the dryness of the air, helping to condition the strand and prevent ends from splitting. Good on both natural and processed hair.

DIRECTIONS: Apply once or twice daily. Start with an amount the size of a dime, add more if needed. Lightly coat all of the hair by gently working oil in, especially the ends. Use also when blow-drying or straightening hair with heat implements.

CAUTION: Do not take internally. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of the reach of children.

INGREDIENTS: Isocetyl Stearoyl Stearate, Propylene Glycol Isoceteth-3 Acetate, Propylene Glycol Myristyl Ether Acetate, Dioctyl Maleate.

I'm thinking there has to be some natural alternatives to these expensive products that probably work just as well.

But Sassy, your product recs are usually right on. I'm tempted.....

I wish I could show you. It looked like one of the demi-wig/quick weave type of pieces. It was loosely waved. But her roots were showing and they didn't match. I don't even think they were the same color!

Just wanted to post my response from hairoil.com from the email I sent them yesterday:

Thank you for your interest. At this time we do not send out samples. We do
not have sample sizes and all our products carry a 60 day money back
guarantee. If you want the ingredient list go to the Web Site and click on FAQ. The
#9 choice is ingredient list.

The constant care for ends is like a pomade and is our best selling product.
You need very little since it is highly concentrated. Most of our customers
agree that it is priceyk, but they also say that since a little goes a long
way it really is not that expensive when you consider how long it lasts and how
well it works.

bump, read the hair tips I found some of the stuff she says questionable, and her stuff is very high priced for a tiny amount. Has anyone recently tried thie products?

Yeah, Cathy can come of as a little harsh, self-righteous and all knowing. Her method is obviously working for a lot of people so she should let is sell itselve instead of degrading and putting other competitors down.

I was almost a customer of Cathy's, getting reading to buy her book until I read the entire website and her negative approach helped me change my mind. That is when I found this site.

And although Wanakee may not have been the inventor of the products that doesn't change the fact that they are working for a lot of people.

yes, I think Cathy is a negative person and down talk people in order to sell her products. I bought her book because my friend hair was growing like crazy from her products....while reading her book I was rolling my eyes and did not agree on alot of things she said in her book...and that is how I found this site because I wanted more answers...but I do use her dew moisturizer and it is good in my opinion and I want to try her creme moisturizer but I don't buy her products because I agree with her...I buy her products because they helps my hair grow.
