Tools Needed:
Shampoo and Conditioner
Aveda Elixir
Luster's Pink Oil Lotion
Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter
Tancho Stick
Fine Tooth Bone Comb
2 small silky scrunchies
Ion Flatiron
Blowdryer with comb attachment
Curling Iron
Sponge Rollers
Satin Scarf

Step 1: Shampoo and Condition hair.

Step 2: Apply Aveda Elixir in sections (roots and length) then apply Pink Lotion in sections (concentrate on length and don't use too much).

Step 3: Shape hair into a ponytail using fine tooth bone comb. Grab a fingerful of Healthy Hair Butter and apply to topside of hair rubbing it in.

Step 4: Put hair in a ponytail with scrunchie and smooth with the fine tooth bone comb. Apply extra HHB where needed for smoothness. Twirl ponytail length into a bun and secure with the 2nd scrunchie.

Step 5: Wait about 8-10 hours (go about your day or night) and then take hair down. Blowdry the wetness out. No need to make it straight with the blowdryer b/c the flatiron will do this.

Step 6: Part hair down the middle and flat iron small pieces using a good flatiron. I like the Ion Flatiron b/c it has little teeth on the side to make sure I'm not flattening crinkly hair.

Step 7: Curl hair with curling iron and you're all done!!

If it's a little greasier than you thought, go easy on the Pink Lotion next time but I assure you, the oiliness will fade in about a day and you'll be left with silky, silky hair!

For Daily Maintenance: Roll hair with sponge rollers (hype rollers are good b/c they are covered in satin or you can use the regular ones with tissue papers). Sleep with a satin scarf. Make sure you detangle hair completely before rolling and wear the scarf snugly to keep edges smooth. Your hair should be perfect upon waking and removing the rollers. If edges aren't as smooth as you'd like, use the Tancho stick to touch them up. Then brush softly.

Should last over a week. Good luck!

I have never tried the hype rollers, can I find them anywhere?

I may have to give the next go round, since I am in the process of going to curl then pincurl my hair before I go to bed.

Thanx for the tips.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me back. I haven't taken hair pics in ages. I'm in the process of doing my hair tonite so I'll try to take a few pics. :)

I can't wait either! Hairlove, you inspired me to transition by doing braidouts. I'm almost 2 years into my transition now and ready for the big chop.

Your hair is beautiful as ever! I love the cat...drinking out of the faucet...too funny!

My original inspiration for going natural is back!! Welcome back!! Thanks for the pics and the tips. Have you had any problems with your hair reverting in humid weather?

Please tell me how you smooth your hair using a fine tooth bone comb? I can only do this after my hair has been straightened. Are you smoothing all of your hair or just the top layer? Please post a picture of the fine tooth bone comb that you're using. Thanks in advance

ps. Check your e-mail. :)
