I've used it for straightening my hair before and my hair felt like silk! I am not sure what heat or reversion protection that it offers though.

yeah there is a post lol...ok hairlove...so it at least makes it feel good..thats a start. im giving up on looking for the magic product that fights reversion after that mishap with the anti humectant. just want something , non greasy, that works good and makes it look good..so i have somethin to fall back on , when i run out of my little stash of satin creme press, i dont think anything WILL work like it now...just wanna know there is somethin out there that works and looks good....i give up on stoppin the poof all together now.

...im probably just gonna go ahead and get it....cause from what i understand ya'll love it on natural hair too....so i dont think i can lose.

I use it. I've never used it to to flat iron though. It does have water in it, its not just an oil. When I got my last relaxer, the stylist told me any kind of oil serves as a heat protectant, I don't know if that's actually true or not.

I started using Redken Heat Glide before flat ironing and I am very pleased with it. It left my super soft, and frizz free for days, and I live in sticky Louisiana, home of humidity.

hmmm im taking serious note of that....thank you digitalrain!!!
i think your stylist was right to a degree, in that any oil or moisture is better than direct heat on bone dry hair. i dont think it can totally protect....but then what can? ive gotten good results with oils though as far as protection.

now im wondering where i will find this redken heat glide....i shall find it though

I got it at Trade Secret. Its part of the Smooth Down line. Its a serum w/silicones and it also has macadamia nut oil in it. I love it. It doesnt build up at all.
