Depends ... how many kids do I have ? I overheard one woman saying how depo made her hair fall out and she said "I don't want any more kids and I can always get the Africans to braid some more on my hair".LOL

I stopped taking them when I was at home ... i think that along with being able to use distilled water there too helped. My hair was looking pretty cute there for a while!!! Now, I'm fighting daily to keep it moisturized. I think not taking the birthcontrol has helped to with some of the hairloss too.

Hmmm ...Beautiful Hair vs. Bithcontrol ... I'd rather have beautiful hair!!! There are vasectomies(sp??)

i guess i was just lucky...i took them from the time i was 15 til my first child at 22 then again until my second child at 24 with no probs at all.

It could be the type of birth control pill too. I don't take them because of other side effects. Women shouldn't have to make these kinds of choices. I think someone needs to invent reversible vasectomies and maybe more men would go for them.

there is a new formula out called ortho tri-cyclen LO, it has a lower dosage of hormones and weight gain is not supposed to be an issue.

I'm thinking since it has lower hormones then its effect on the hair would decrease as well.

um it depends on the person....my hair stayed the same wait it actually grew now that i think of it and i lost about 10 lbs....but im off of it now. But yeah side effects depend entirely on your body chemistry and how it reacts to the medicine.

What about the birth control patch does that cause hairloss. I'm thinking of going on that. I don't want to lose any hair!

im not on the pill to prevent pregnancy im on it to regulate my period and enable it to be less painful. So I have to take them , because i don't know of anything else that works.

Before taking them one strand of my hair would come out every 3 days and now over 300 strands seem to come out per day. Each time i LIGHTLY pull the ends of my hair a whole set would come out. It is disturbing

the birth control patch has the same hormones as the pills it just relaeases different amounts of dosages of medicine through your skin per day. I was on this too but my insurance stopped paying for it..lol now i just take the plain ol pill. The only thing i didnt like about the patch was all this dirt collected around it cuz you wear it for like a week and a week worth of dirt is under the patch plus it hurt like hell when you had to remove it....owwwwweeeee. and then it looks like a bandaid...whose skin color was it intended for?...lol
