hairdress? headress?

Hey ladies. I've been wanting to ask this for soooo long but didn't wanna seem slowmo . What is exactly defines a product as a hairdress or headress? Is this just a product gimmick? Please feel me in. I'm clueless over here.

hair dress= the crap full of cheap ingredients (in the ethnic hair section) that, in my humble opinion, has no place in a healthy hair care regimen...hehe

Examples: Pink oil lotion, blue magic, and other patroleum based products

You can get a Headdress product that is of a creamy consistency like Keracare Condition Creme head dress. I think its used as a finishing product hence the name 'head dress'.

i have mizani rose water h20 (name?) hairdress and my straight flat ironed hair loves it and i use at as my moisturizer... its also a creamy consistency but thick... i love it, but i'm not a hair guru and i'm not much of a label reader so who knows

I used to think that hairdress=moisturizer too.

On my bottle of Jane Carter Solution Hair Nourishing Cream, it says "Ultra Light Cream Hairdress" and the first ingredient is water. I use it as a moisturizer.

I think the terms are now given urban definitions that vary from their original meaning. A head dress covers the head like a scarf, hat, etc. Hair dressing is any application to the hair for whatever reason...cheap or expensive.

Hair dress= a product for hair

Head dress= cloth wrap, feathers, gauze bandages, a hat etc.
