Hair Washing Process...do you?

Ok ladies have a quick question. I'm about to wash my hair then do a rollerset. Now after I've completely rinsed and I'm ready to appy my creamy leave-in conditioner. Do I 1. apply it immediately to my full head, and then proceed to rollerset, spraying areas that get dry with water as I go along, or should I 2. apply my creamy leave-in to each section as I roll my hair?

I apply to my entire head and then spray water on the sections that get dry.

I always put my leave ins first on my whole head then rollerset with a spray bottle handy. I like it because my hair gets just enough of the products to keep it healthy and beautful, but not too much that it weighs my hair down and makes it look lifeless. I like my hair swangin'!
