Hair Type Hype

DDTexlaxed

TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I don't get it. I'm trying to figure out what hair type i am, and i'm seriously confused. Mtg has given me a wavy texture and at the nape of my neck, it looks like tiny lil curls! My ng was always bushy, not wavy and no curls, just bedebees! I'm in cornrows now, but I saw my 1.5" of ng mixed in my texlaxed and was like wth? I don't know what texture it is, I always thought of myslf as a 4ab type, but this is looking sort of like 3something, almost, spanish wavy. Never has a product influenced my hair like this! It is so thick, that my ng is showing more in the cornrow style. It looks almost curly, while the rest is sort of strait. I want so badly to b/c, but I must be patient and let my hair rest. Has anyone else have this reaction to mtg or another product that changed your hair texture? :perplexed

Well I can hear you on the hair texture change I don't know what is going on. At first my hair was 4 b ish normal... Since MTG good gosh it ia like a wavy curly thick jungle.... the ng seems thicker and straighter at the same time. Also I know it has grown but how much ...don't know can not remember what I started with. :D Now I have added Suge 14 to the mix I don't what will happen Now! Can it get any Thicker? :perplexed

You are not alone in your confusion.....

You have 1 1/2" of new growth in the 5 weeks since you last relaxed? How long have you been using the MTG?

I'm not alone! I'm so relieved! I've been using mtg and surge along w/ my sulfur 8 mix. my hair is strangely waving up. The girls at the salon said my texture was crazy. Now i really can't wait to b/c!

I'm sorry if my reply is a bit slow. I've been using mtg for at least 2 months. I had 7" of hair when I started, went to 10, then got it cut to 7 again and now I'm back to 10". So far, I'm getting 2.5" of ng per month. the first time I used it I got 1" of ng in 2 weeks. Now I'm getting a very wavy and almost curly ng. This has never been my texture b4 and I'm so excited to see the outcome. :lachen:

It sounds like it's working wonderfully for you. I will probably start using mine sometime next week. I want to do a skin test over the weekend first. Since I may be dying my hair, there will be no mistake as to what is new growth since I do not measure my hair. I will let you know if there are any changes in new growth...length or texture.

It's called mane tail growth. It is the undiluted form of mane and tail. It is a crossover product that can be used by horses and people. Mtg is more potent than mane and tail. It has done something wonderful to my hair. My hair started growing in leaps and bounds. My hair was thick already, but now it is uberthick! the girl who did my hair at the salon had difficulty in getting the blow dry attachment thru my hair! :p That is why I airdry anyway....I am now 6 weeks post relaxer. This is the longest I've ever been w/o a touchup! My new growth is now wavy/curly almost. made a mix with castor oil and water for my braids. I added mtg in it. Even my bushy ends have strangely waved up. My experiminent with mtg use is highly successful. I've been averaging 2" of ng a month. This has never happened to me beore. My hair growth was slow and almost non-existent without mtg. Adding this and my sulfur 8 mix has made me more able to embrace my new natural texture which looks more like a 3c/4a mix. That will be determined when I B/c. I am interested in seeing my nat. texture no matter what it is! I just can't believe how much mtg has helped my hair improve. I know that I can be successful with it, wheteher I remain natural or texturize my hair in the future. I'm not going to make long term goals, yet. Just a no relaxer challenge for 3 months. I will be in braids for at least two of those 3 months. The b/c may be after month 2. I will keep my progress logged in my journal for anyone who wants to see my regime.

I'm confused. You said that 6 weeks is the longest you've gone without a touch-up, yet you also say that your growth was slow or non-existent before MTG.

I think you are misrepresenting some facts here:

First, MTG is not marketed as a cross over product to be used by humans and horses. It is marketed for HORSES, though originally formulated for humans. Whether it can be used by humans is still up for debate, but it is NOT marketed as such.

Second: The Mane and Tail Product line consists of a SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER marketed for HUMAN use. The MTG is a SKIN TREATMENT. The Mane and Tail and MTG are two completely different types of products and their use.

The Mane and Tail and Eqyss products are similar in their use, application and purpose.

However, I do not disagree with you on the great results! :yep:

I didn't mean to misrepresent this product. I'm only going by some of the posts read here and on blackhaircare.com. For what it's worth, mtg has done so much for me as far as benefit my hair. For Laneica, I'm going to try to clarify myself. My hair always grew slow before using mtg. There were months when my hair did not grow at all, no matter what I tried. Since starting mtg, I average 1.5-2" a month. This is a first for me and this product will be in my product list forever! I got mine at farmvet.com. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings. Please know that I am not making up anything. This product has helped me so much, that I can't help singing its praises. If anyone wants to read about my progress, it will be in my journal. Hope u can all benefit from mtg like I have!

Natrl , please don't take the tone of my post as criticism. There has just been A LOT OF broohaha on the board about this product and a lot of things have been said (in attempts to be helpful I'm sure) that aren't factual with some very strongly against it, and other gungho for using it!

Me? I'm a user, tried and true! I'm glad you're having great results! My hair is also prone to growing slowly normally and has about doubled since using it. I took some time off to see if I was tripping or not. I wasn't. My hair slowed right back down :(

I'm posting pics of my progress since that's the only way the nonbelievers ( :scratchch ) will come around. So happy hair growing and I'll see you hanging out in the stable too! :weird:

I know you didn't mean it that way. I'm just trying to help not only you, but others to see that I'm not making up my results. I'm also trying to find out info for myself, because I'm not a mtg knowitall, even tho the stuff I know , I post. ;) also, as with any other product, some people have had some adverserse reactions to Mtg. I can only go by my good results and I don't want to influence anyone to get a product that can hurt them. Therefore I will only post my progress with mtg in my journals. I love this product, but, I no longer will post anymore about mtg as the former Phyto pusha did. I am wondering if anyone had a product that changed their hair texture though. I'm still intrigued about the change in my texture!

Pooh, I was shocked at this too. I actually got a tape measure to see if this was so. By the way, this was only 2 months of use, so I'm not getting my hopes up. I am trying to be careful not to mislead anyone. I've only been using this since the beginning of april. The results were too shocking for me to believe! Also I have been using a mix of sulfur 8,wgo, and glover's too, so it may not just be the mtg alone. I noticed the growth more with the mtg. So, I don't know if the mtg is doing the growing or the sulfur 8 mix. This has been an experiment that I've been conducting. All I know is that my hair is growing now more than ever. My experince may be different than others. That is why I don't want to post my results publicly because what works great for me might not work well for you. Until you use a product personally, you don't know what it can or can't do. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, because that's not my intent. :(

Natrl,

I personally thank you for sharing your results! If you are getting that kind of growth from your combinations, go for it!!! I don't think your posts are offensive in the least, it just seems that some want to play spoil it....no matter what.

PS...WHO RATED THIS THREAD? C'MON!! We need a smiley doing the pathetic head shake!

No offense at all...but can you do us a favor---> don't cut your hair anymore, take pictures, and show us how long your hair will be one day??? :D

Here's the smiley---> :nono:

Natrl, when will you have pics? :D Most people who read the forum should know by now that what works for one doesn't necessarily work for all. It still seems to come as a surprise to some though. Oh well. Keep posting about your progress though.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of the MTG alone and Ms. Sue's Sunrise Products alone on the same head. :)

The rating on this thread keeps going up and down. It was a 2 a little while ago.

Anyway, I hope that we can see some pics of everyone's progress with the MTG soon. hint..hint..hint

Oh, maybe that's how YOU define that one. For me, that's not nearly adequate in expressing what I have in mind.

Back to topic PLEASE.

Oh, I'm sorry. I was in no way being mean when I posted that smiley. I just knew that was a pathethic head-shaking smiley.

Poohbear, you and Jainygirl have actually been my inspiration! I'm going to b/c when I get back from California in july. I wish i knew how to upload pics on fokti. Anyhow, it won't do any good to take any pics until I'm done trasitioning. Shoot, I might just b/c before then. This texlaxed hair of mine is driving me crazy! I promise I will post pictures soon. The mtg and s8 mix have changed my hair texture. To tell the truth, I am unsure what to do with my hair. Is there any other styles to do other than braids to transition? I don't think my hair is digging the braid extensions.

Okie dokie, but fotki is pretty easy to use. But whatever you do, don't be afraid to post about your progress...just be as clear and concise as possible. I'm shocked at the amount of growth you're getting too!

Anyway, I bet your hair is driving you crazy because when I was transitioning, the two textures drove me crazy and led me to chopping it all off. I'm not sure what hairstyle you can do because I know you have asked about hair styles alot. I know when I transitioned, I tried all types of hairstyles which really didn't work for me because my relaxed hair would just break off at the demarcation line.

Question: Are you planning on going natural for good or big chopping then re-relaxing???

I'm hoping to stay natural for as long as I can. I don't want to say for good because I'm not good with long term goals. I will probably lightly texturize my hair if I do. The mtg makes texturizing or relaxing very temporary. They just don't take the way they used to and I'm sort of leaning towards stretching them for two or three months.....if I texturize at all.

geez y'all, i dont knwo why everyone is trying to throw salt in her game. she isnt the only one sayign that she's gotten great results with MTG so...

No salt from me! I love my MTG, I understand the posts of the ladies though, there are many who make a lot of claims about incredo growth, super long hair and so on...(NOT SAYING SHE'S ONE OF THEM SO DON'T STONE ME!)....but some of the ladies with the outrageous claims, NEVER put up photos to back them up.

While this isn't a requirement, it does add some credibility to their statements. We all know the scientific limits that have been put on 'just how fast our hair will grow under claimed optimal conditions' so when someone says something far beyond the limits of the norm, folks are skeptical.

Doesn't mean they're hattin...they're just acting like Cuba Good Jr...."show me the money"!

oh no. i didnt mean you LaNecia. and i understand what you mean abotu proof but in the case of the "Holy Ghost Grease" i could understand becuase only 1 person has used it, but with the MTG there have been multiple raves so why the skepticism?

Im confused
