Hair Time

So this past weekend I had the whole house to myself and I had planned from that morning to wash and deep condition my hair. I had not sat under my dryer in a long time. It was so refreshing...I was like a kid in a candy store. When I tell you how relaxed I was and happy to be doing it....you would have thought I was at a spa! LOL! My hubby left and was like, "What's all the fuss about washing hair?" He had to be a woman to understand. It was the experience of taking time out for myself and knowing I was giving my hair what it needed.

Anyone else ever feel this way?

Hair time is like an event in my house. Thank God I only have 1 daughter. It takes an hour or so to wash, condition and twist her hair once a week. It takes 2 hours to wash, dc, detangle and braid mine. If I flat iron that adds another hour. I'm getting tired just thinking about it:sleep2:

Even though I loved my time to do my hair, I will always hate showering , going under the dryer then having to get back in the shower again. I think that may be the real reason I hadn't deep conditioned in so long.

I use it as an opportunity to use my foot spa and coming on here...It is calming. @syze6 I understand that totally! This is going to sound crazy, but I DC (sit under the steamer), hop in the shower (rinse out the conditioner), shampoo, rinse out the shampoo, put the regular conditioner on, put my hair up in a clip, wash my body, rinse the conditioner out, get out the shower...I'm not suggesting this for anyone else, but it has worked well for me for quite some time now... :yep:

This is why I wash in the sink now. I wash in the sink, then apply my dc. I rinse it out in the shower and then I let it airdry.

Yes yes yes... It's my time to relax. I sit under the dryer and read a good book. I continue the book every weekend under the hoodie... I look forward to it.

That's why wash/deep condition my hair at night when I shower then rinse the conditioner out in the morning when I shower again.
