I've been texlaxing for over a year now and I had my hair in a sew in for over 3 months and I had a lot of new growth. So my friend helps take out my hair combs it out and were looking at it like u don't need to texlax it. It's manageable. I just thought this is crazy. Has this happened to anyone else and why did it change out the blue?

When I started my HHJ my hair texture changed - alot. As a child, my texture was always 3a/b with 2bish areas. As i got older and discovered the blow dryer and flat iron, I kept my natural hair straight (I only relaxed my hair once or twice as a teenager). I always was a hair washer, and always washed my hair at least twice a week. But that meant, I blow dryed and flat ironed my hair at least twice a week. Also, my hair tends to frizz, so I'd flat iron dirty hair too. I did this from my teens to my 30s. My hair was too through with me. When I discovered the online hair community and changed my wicked ways, I gave up the blow dryer and the flat Iron. I was sure my hair was 3c/4a. As i took better care of it and quenched its thirst (my hair was THIRSTY!!!), the texture gradually changed back to 3a/b with that 2b "runway" down the center of my head. My aunt was here this summer and I hadn't seen her for about 2 years and she commented that my texture seemed to have reverted to what it was as a child.

In my case, I'm convinced that my hair was just DRY. As it got and retained the moisture it was craving, it went back to its original state. If ou were doing a good job moisturizing under your weave, your hair may finally be quenched.

Don't sleep on that moisture, ladies, it can make all the difference in the world.

^ I was going to say the same thing. The hair you texlaxed because it was "unmanageable" was probably just dry. It's the same texture as the new growth.
