I just got finished prepooing and noticed my hair line is in worse condition than it was just days ago. Could it be the MTG:confused: . I been using that since friday, applying morning & nite, concentrating on my already thin hair line. I have a big pimple on my left temple and a small bald patch on both sides:perplexed . I'm on the verge of giving up. Maybe I should just stick to pooing/DC. I've always had a sinsetive scalp, maybe this stuff is too strong for my head:( Lord knows all I want is my health and hair.
Please look at my fotki...the starting point pics and the ones I posted today. Its gotten worse right?:ohwell:

Hmmm.... i'm not sure if it could be from the MTG. but i just wanted to let u know that MTG doesn't moisturize ur scalp/hair--some even said it dried their hair out----so be sure to use a good moisturizer on ur hair and the MTG on ur scalp only.

I used it and didn't see any problems w/ my hair. (stopped now, and just use the sulphur poweder and olive oil)

Hopefully some of the ladies will be able to help u out!

ETA---maybe b/c ur hairline is very sensitive---maybe lay off the MTG there for awhile and just moisturize and use castor oil on ur edges---lots of ladies have seen there hair/edges thicken up from castor oil.

Golong,

if you've noticed that the thinning is getting worse since you've been using that stuff, please don't use it any more.

are you having any itching in those areas? i know when my alopecia was active, i'd get this weird itchy/prickly thing going on and it'd always be followed by shedding.

try to hang in there. {hugs}

in the meantime, can you make an appointment with a dermatologist?

I have notice dry, itchy, tinder scalp. I can shake my head & have dry hair coat the sink :eek: . I have not been moisturizing though, just dumping MTG on my head, I figured with all that oil it would moisturize too. Maybe thats it. I will stop for now and purchuse castrol oil (would mineral oil work 4 thicking?)

no don't use mineral oil!!!it will certainly clog your pores and probably cause more irritation.

castor oil would probably be better but i think something like jojoba would be ideal since it's close to natural scalp oil and it's thinner.

for now though, don't mess with the mtg, k?

give yourself a good shampoo to rid your scalp of it completely, buy some jojoba oil and give your scalp a chance to rest for a bit.

Got it- I will look for jojoba & castrol oil tomorrow. Hey I have mango QP butter in on hand, can I use that on my scalp? It says apply to ends but it also says its a mositurizer. I don't know what to do...I'm so hair ignorant:perplexed ...thank God for you ladies.

Yep, i would poo/DC like u were doing and moisturize ur hair well. (and maybe see a derm. too)

Oh, and u don't have to use a ton of castor oil--it is thick! Especially if ur hair is fine or fragile. I mix some w/ a lighter oil (olive, coconut etc..) or my moisturizer and the apply it to my hair.
