:D on saturday, I had my hair relaxed with vitale sensitive scalp relaxer;I was supposed to have it done almost 4 weeks ago but couldn't do it. After 6 months of stretching my relaxer I retained approximately 4 inches !!! I know it's not a lot, but I never thought I could do it in the first place..
I want to thank you all for the precious advice you give on this board! you've got so much insight and I truly believe you were Godsent!!!

How do you like this relaxer, or is it too early to tell?

Congrats :bouncy: Please share your routine, I was trying to do the 6 month stretch but due to a probelms with a previous relaxer I was getting breakage.

That's GREAT growth and retention since your last touch-up. Congrats!

thank you ladies!!!

I retained 4 inches but I cut off 1.5 inches because of raggedy ends. Before coming across hair boards (that was before february 2005) my hair was really thin. I used to have all my hair relaxed (not only the new growth!) with african pride no-lye rexer immediately after taking down braid extentions kept on for almost 3 months at a time..

my hair was really jacked up and I couldn't even put it in a small ponytail :( .
In february I came across Robin's webite and I was so in awe and motivated that I decided to follow the crown and glory technic.

when out of braids, I followed JenniferMD's regimen when she stretch hair relaxer to 9 months (Jennifer sorry if I stole your regimen, it works like a charm :D thanks!)..

as for vital relaxer I can't really say if it's good at the moment, but my hair looks really thick. I didn't relaxed it bone straight though, maybe that's why..

the only problem I have it's my hair line: it look really thin at the sides.. what can I do? I wish I could post pictures but I don't have a digital camera..

now my regimen is:

wednesdays: cw with VO5 fruitsation or tresemme Vitamine E moisturizing co.
MNT conditioner diluited w/ distilled water used as Leave-in
Scurl and Surge Lotion #9 to seal in moisture.
let hair air dry in a bun.

Saturdays: poo w/tresemme moisturising conditioner diluited w/distilled water
deep condition w/ lekair cholesterol or pantene smooth & sleek
(30-45 min).
MNT conditioner diluited w/ distilled water used as Leave-in
IC serum and Surge Lotion #9 to seal in moisture
Then I roller wrap with big magnetic rollers.

daily: mornings - moisturize hair with elasta QP mango butter and jojoba oil
to seal in moisture
bedtime - baggie method.

every 4 weeks - protein treatment with aphogee 2 min reconstructor or
motions silk protein w/heat for 30 min followed by moist cond

daily hairstyle: hair is kept in a small bun.

how does it sound? should change something in my regimen?
my hair is mostly 4a/4b.

thanks in advance !

I Think it sounds pretty good . I notice You don't use much heat so how do you keep you new growth smooth/managable.

Before relaxing, I washed my hair once a week, then I used Sylver's airdrying method. It really worked because the new growth laid flat and smooth.
