Water and something to seal it in. I'm not trying to be smart. Here's my $0.02...
There are no “secrets” to growing your hair. There are no “super gro”, “wild growth”, “doo gro” or “magic gro” products that you can put on your hair and make it grow faster. (BTW—Why are “our” products always misspelled?
) IMO, the "secret" to growing your hair is to keep heat styling to a minimum (once or twice a week), wearing low manipulation hairstyles (buns, twists, braids no thinner than a pencil, etc.) and moisture, moisture, moisture! Moisture is what keeps our hair from drying up and breaking off.
Curl activator works for me.
BTW--I found this post to be very inspiring.

I agree. Also, ask her if she is taking vitamins. A good vitamin (even just a simple multi) should help.

Agree! You also have to find products that enable you to work with your hair and just let time run it's course...there is no majic formula or potion, a person's hair is going to grow as fast and long as it wants to...your job is just to help it along the way by takeing care of it and making sure you minimize breakage.
