lol i went back to the original thread asking about steamers and another young lady was having the same exact problem. They told her to put some salt in the water. I was thinking "ion want no salty water all in my head, that's going to dry it out" but since I paid $170 for this thing and i was pressed to use it, lemme give it a go. soooo i added about 1/4 teaspoon of salt the water. As soon as I did that and turned it on, the freakin thing stopped with the super high pitched sound and started steaming within 2 minutes.
As far as how I like it, right now I don't see too much of a difference in how it feels when I dc with my heat cap. Then again I have only used it once. I'm going to start doing Ovation "treatments" with it and hope that really gets it in my hair. Plus i'm going to get my hair colored in September and I'm hoping it keeps me from having to chop off inches and inches of dried up, chewed up hair.
