Hey all, ok ive done some many things to my hair to encourage healthiness and growth and yeh pleased cus my hair seems alot healthier and i snipped the ends so it feels soft and has no dead ends BUT :wallbash: still no growth.
In fact the shrinkage is making my hair look shorter, and as for the front well its stronger but it still aint growing after it all broke off, months ago. I look like a man with a receeding hair line.(very short a front like grade one and bout 4 inches at back, top and side, is that odd or what?) I do baggys every other day i con wash once a week i have safe hairstyles. i take biotin and multi vits and i use alma, essential oil (kera care), castor oil, s curl, and still no growth. i have 4b type hair and im feeling a little disappointed, everyones hair is growing like mad and mine just looks mad, lol, can anyone help.x

Everyone on this board can attest that once they stopped stressing the hair started growing...Im in a growth slow down myself, Im 4a and have been 2 inches from apl for almost a year!!!! Talk about stressing... My word to you is to relax, and it will come, there are many beautiful heads of hair on this board and it took them anywhere from 2 to 3 years to reach their goal.. Girl, you know the saying...A watched phone never rings;) So sit back and enjoy learning how to keep your hair healthy, and the length will come.

Girlfriend I feel you! My journey has been sooo long and it just seems that everybody on here has beautiful long hair and mine is always breaking and not growing at all. I realize that my hair journey has had some bumps in the road, but I am working hard on getting my hair healthy and to shoulder length. I have tried everything to make it grow and I think that the BT is really helping, but my breakage is killing me. Please be encouraged and keep fighting the good fight!:)

Hey carolb, hey pinkskates!! Carolb hang in there too girl, as Im sure pinkskates will agree we love some AVEDA! Sorry had to get in in... But anyhoo, eve and carolb I use the aveda damage remedy line (poo, intensive treatment, and conditioner) It has worked great on my hard to grow hair!!!
Ladies check out pinkskates (sorry girl) her hair is gorgeous!:D

are u experiencing new growth but not length: or ur just no having new growth at the scalp: also I dunno if ur relaxed or not: but relaxed heads: when stretching: hair seems to shrink but once the hair is stretched or relaxed: the hair appears to have shot out like a rose bud: also u don't want to do too much to manipulate hair growth: it just might back fire: well let us kno hows it goin.

Awww.thanks girlie:Blush2: . when my hair was breaking badly about a year ago, I tried so many products; and nothing stopped my breakage until I started using Aveda DR line. And I have not looked back. I am a true Aveda believer.

I would give up the baggying. It caused my hair to break off. Baggying isn't for everyone:look:

One year later, I can ditto this.

The breakage is so silent and I thought it was really working for me too.:ohwell:

Best advice I can give is PATIENCE...

A watched pot never boils :)

I know it's lame, but it's true. Step away from the mirror and relax. If you're taking care of your hair, the growth and maintaining that growth will be there in due time.

Good luck!

I also wanted to add, I gave up all that baggying, bunning, and worrying as well as CW, etc. My hair is still growing just fine. I did hold true to relaxing every 10-12 weeks and I was low/no heat before LHCF, so I still do that. But bottom line, I do what works for my hair and it wasn't doing all the extra tricks of the trade and my hair is healthy and FINALLY thickening back up to what it was pre-LHCF.

Just keep a healthy regimine that works for you and be patient. Good things ALWAYS come to those who wait :)

^^^ secretly can't wait until the end of the summer when I update my picture to see if my own advice works. :look:

I would recommend the following:

1. Give up the baggy & the conwash, instead focus on deep conditioning (ORS Hair Mayo, Apoghee 2min, Biolage Cera Repair hydratherapie and Fortetherapie, etc)

2. IMO drop the keracare essential oil and use 1 good oil like coconut, jojoba. Use this to seal in moisture after you use a daily water based moisturized (key WATER BASED. THAT MEANS NO MINERAL OIL, LANOLIN, PETROLEUM INGREDIENTS). ORS Carrot Oil is a good one & Elasta QP Mango Butter.

3. Make sure you are protecting your hair by using a good leave-in. One that has both moisture and protein like Salerm or lacio, lacio. I also used Infusium 23 original (brown label) which wasn't bad as you dont need alot.

4. Make sure you are clarifying at least monthly to remove product build up which prevents growth.

5. Make sure you shampoo doesn't have the Sulfate Lauryth's in it as the primary ingredient (like list as the first 5 or 6). Unless you are using it for clarifying.

Also, you need a Seven Wonders Hair Food Cocktail intervention. Just PM me or so a LHCF Search for Seven Wonders Hair Food.

And most importantly, try not to stress about (stress can contribute to breakage). :)

Let me know if you have any questions or if you need help building a solid regimen.

wow id first like to thank everyone for their responses, grrrreat:D .my hair is 100% natural so the shrinkage is alot. what does it mean when you say clarify your hair, sorry still not familiar to the sayings. i must admit my patience has let me down and because ive seen all these wonderful hair lengths i just presumed id see the effects pretty quickly. anyway i wud love for you to help me with a solid regime, thank you

To clarify is to use a shampoo specifically noted for clarification (ultra cleansing) A lot of us on the board use aveda detoxifier, suave clarifying shampoo,vO5 kiwi lime squeeze, or any that you can find at your local drug store. Clarifying removes all the build up that hair products leave and make it hard for products to be absorbed into the hair shaft.. Try using a clarifying shampoo prior to your wash/dc ritual and you should notice great results, as all the gunk will be removed prior to your routine... Hope this helps, some on the board use a baking soda/water rinse as well;)

Hey,

clarifying is when you remove the build-up from the base of the scalp, with a clarifying shampoo, or you can put jojoba oil in your shampoo about a spoonful, that also breaks down the grease on the scalp. Apple cider vinegar in water is a good natural alternative.

I use my Root Energizer to stimulate growth in my hair, and I am too natural, but I get good growth.:) PM me for more info on it, I am in the UK too!

No problem. :) I always love helping!
I will send you a PM to get more info about your hair etc, etc. Clarifying is basically what the above two girls stated. However, I find that it's best if you use a shampoo that is made just for clarifying like Aveda Detoxifier or Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo or Treatment, Pantene ProV Clarifying Shampoo, etc.

Also can you give me your email address? Just in case the email I send is longer than what's allowed in texts. :)

i dont wish to give up but when people suggest you relax it, or put extension in it or hot comb it, then you start looking at your hair negatively thinkin is that what people think of me.so im glad all of you are right beside me in my journey and when i get natural long hair they'll be begging me for advice. thank you ladies.xxx:D

If that is you in your avatar your hair is beautiful, I'm also natural and its a journey for the simple fact that we don't see length because our hair has a lot of shrinkage only if you press it out, so don't worry your hair is growing, I notice u didn't mention vitamin try a good multi and some fish oil and I also take separate calcium, but good luck and we are here for you, :)
