Hair For Cornrows - I need suggestions

I'm keeping my hair in cornrows this summer and I wanted to add some hair so I don't walk around looking like I'm twelve.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what kind of hair is gentle and doesn't wear on your own hair and what is the best to use for cornrows?

A lot of people use the Kanekalon. There is a technique of soaking the hair in vinegar and water to strip the coating off. I have to find that link.

Anyone else have suggestions for her?

I always liked the kankelon or toykalon (not sure if I spelled it right). But, I stopped wearing cornrows because I found it to be damaging to my hair, especially my edges. HTH!
