Hi Ladies,

I'm not one to review products, but this particular product is so great I felt it would be a crime to not mention it. I did a search and couldn't find anything on it, so I apologize if there is already a thread on this.

The product I am referring to is Hair Food by Pro-line.

When I was younger and I used to go to St. Louis to visit my grandma, she used to always put this on all the grand-daughters hair. I completely forgot about this stuff until I went to visit her for Thanksgiving this year and she had 2 jars of this. I told her that I was trying to grow my hair and she suggested that I take her extra jar. This oil is so light and does not weigh my hair down like the coconut oil I have been using. Just in the past week since I have been using it again, I've gotten many compliments from my co-workers on how healthy/shiny my hair looks. . I haven't seen these at Sally's, but I know you can get it from walgreens.com for $2.99 with free shipping. If anyone else has used this, please let me know what your thoughts are. I think this is going to replace my coconut oil.

I have even noticed my scalp tingling a bit more since I've used this, although it's possible it could be from something else, I'm not sure. This is one of the products that Hair Lady from growafrohairlong.com recommends. I recently went to the bss to look for it and they didn't have it but he wrote it down to order it. I have not been back to see if it came in yet. I think I'm going to start using this as well. How often do you use it? Once a week, twice a week, etc.

anyone know the ingrediants?

From the Walgreens.com website:

Ingredients

Mineral Oil Paraffinum Liquidum , Petrolatum , Ceresin , Lanolin , Fragrance Parfum , Retinyl Palmitate , Tocopheryl , Isostearoyl , Hydrolyzed Collagen , Yellow 11 CI 47000

This is a straight up old skool product! I don't know if I could use it now though, my hair and mineral oil don't get along too well.

I use it about every two days. It keeps my hair so shiny that if I used it more than that I'd start looking like a Soul Glo model from Coming to America  . Don't forget that you can order it from walgreens.com.

GIRL!!! I remember this. My aunt has used it on her hair and it grew like wild fire. You are taking me back in the 70s when it was real popular. Plus, I love the smell. I just might purchase some next week. Thanks!

I saw this the product in my local BSS and could not believe it's still available.
I had several neighbors used this years ago and they loved it.

I have never tried this product. Are you still loving it?

I'm still loving it :) A little goes a looooong way too. My grandma gave me her jar back in November which had already been opened. Since then I've used it about every other day and still haven't used half of the jar yet. It's extremely light and I also like the smell. The reason I love this so much is because it makes your hair look naturally shiny instead of some of those other oils that can make our hair look greasy and gunked up.
