Hey Hair Sisters,

I've been loving your tips so much and I totally forgot to share this with you.

I got really good growth results for drinking Odwalla's Chocolate Protein drink 5 times a week (1 on my way to work). I picked them up because I have a mood disorder and protein helps a lot. But after about 2 months I realized my hair grew about 2.5 inches instead of my normal 1/2 - 1 per month. It grew at that rate until I stopped drinking them. I don't know why I stopped, but I picked up some at my grocery store last week. If my hair starts growing like a weed again, I'll update this thread. I'm going to do my own solo-challenge using these drinks. They are yummy and useful.

Another helpful thing is that protein helps with your appetite. It was the equivalent of a very small meal (croissant and juice maybe). Nice for people like me that tend to snack too much.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any pics? If not, please take pics during your solo-challenge. I would love to see your progress :)

NP. You know I could never get into the whole hairtography thing. So I'll probably just set a remember on my iphone to get the tape measure out and record my progress.

It's hard for me to say because a few of my medications cause weight gain. So it'd be no way for me to know if it's the drinks or my meds. I doubt it though. 33g of protein is a little less than what any woman under 60 should get per a day. It's not a muscle mass powder or anything (eep!).

Nice
I got excellent groqth whn i was on Atkins (high protein diet) last year. Yesterday i started drinkig a protein shake (that is 90% soy protein) twice a day for my workout and weight goals, so i hope that help with my hair growth as well ^^

Thanks for sharing =)

The Protein drink has 220 calories per servings and there are 2 servings per container, so 440 calories. It also has 25 grams of sugar 50 grams per container.

Not the one i'm taking, is 113 per serving, no sugar cholesterol or fat added. Also just 2.7 carbs :drunk:

Darn, I don't like chocolate, but thats a tempting revelation.

......I wonderet how that will worked mixed with my Carrot Juice.

They have a non-chocolate one, but I can taste the powder every-time. Blech! But you can always just buy powder and mix it into whatever you like. But I like this drink better because it's already mixed and tasty right off the shelves. I don't have time to play Dexter in the lab.

Thank you for the tip. I have never heard of Odwalla but I have been drinking Ovaltine. It's packed with a multitude of vitamins and proteins. I love chocolate milk so I choose to drink Ovaltine as an alternative. Between Ovaltine and Boost and along with my hair growing regimen. I know my hair is growing at a faster rate. I will be on the lookout next time I'm in the store for this Odwalla.

Good looking out Coffee because protein drinks can make you gain weight, if one is not careful. I drink protein drinks to gain muscle, mainly after working out and the hair growth is an added bonus:grin:

Oooooh Thanks for the tip!!! I LOVE Odwalla!!!! I'll have to pick up some of the chocolate this week.

Oh, I have sworn by their juices for 3 years. I love them. Strawberry anything from them is always wonderful. I drink their Superfood a lot too.

Ladies, they also have this in snack bar form if you'd rather not drink.

I drink a protien shake that is 180 calories. I've been taking it as a meal replacement while I'm working out to gain lean muscle and I have notice improvement in my hair as well.

Oh and when I do drink the protien monster or something similar I only drink the serving size and not the whole bottle (about 3 servings per bottle).

I'm the same way too. If I want a boost, I drink 1 serving size. I want to drink it as a breakfast replacement, then I'll drink the whole thing.

Does anyone know if someone who is lactose intolerant handle these protein drinks? I'd love to try one, but don't want to doubled over afterwards.

I'm lactose intolerant but I can drink these because it's mainly soy milk with cow milk mixed in.

My hair grew fast when I was drinking Muscle Milk daily. Pretty much any drink that has a high protein content will boost growth. I like the Odwalla drinks too. Weight gain wasn't a problem for me but it can get kind of expensive drinking that stuff daily.

Thanks for sharing OP! Now that I think about it I was drinking Odwalla's superfoods green drink with Spirulina in it last summer basically everyday and I had a very significant growth spurt. It has 130 calories per serving [260 per bottle], 1 g of fat per bottle, 30 g of carbs but it didn't really have alot of protein (1g). I'm thinking it was the spirulina, wheat grass, barley grass and wheat sprouts that helped with the growth. It tasted yummy too :lick:

Mmmm. Yes, I got good results from that yummy drink as well. Not to be nasty, but it also helped clean up my GI area.

Well I went out and bought the vanilla flavored drink and its not very tasty. I probably wont' keep it up becuz they are very expensive. I'll probably continue to make my concoctions at home although this is more convenient.

I found out that Odwalla's rival "Naked" has a protein zone fruit series. I'm finishing off a mango flavored one. It's good, but you can taste/feel the powder. I think I'll stick with the chocolate.
