Well C you know when I wanted my layers gone I cut my hair and it ending up being shoulder length. I regretting it afterwards because I had to cut so much but it's growing back. I would suggest cutting little by little instead of all at once like I did, until it's all even.
Thanks everybody for participating /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Even tho i've never heard of the "U" LOL I'm gonna have to go with that... eventually my "V" will grow back (which by the way i love) and then the rest of my hair will be even on the sides (which I don't have now). I so wish I had that other picture where you would really SEE how much shorter the right side is from the left. Ho hummm...
btw, somebody show me a picture of a "U"... hahahaha
And somebody asked me was my hair as straight as possible, yes, it was.
I think U-shape simply means rounding out the point on the slight v-shape you've got going right now. This would make it look more symetrical but it wouldn't mean cutting too much.../images/graemlins/think.gif
OH NO LOOK WHAT I DID i was the first to suggest the U now i have changed my mind. You have a hair goal you are trying to reach. cutting your hair is setting you back. If your ends are healthy leave them alone. DONT EVEN YOUR HAIR OUT UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR GOAL
This is so funny CH b/c you know the dilemma I was facing last wk w/my hair and you were a great help. Hmm... I don't think I should even answer, BUT... I agree w/the others about the "U" shape. It's closer to your beloved "V" shape than a blunt cut so you'll have that back in no time. Plus, like ModelChick and others have said, you will NOT be cutting much at all. MAYBE an inch. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
Also, it looks like the "V" you have now is swooshing a little to one side. Are you sure it's not more in the middle than you think?
If it were my hair, I would shape it up, but I wouldn't take off more than an inch. Actually, if it were my hair it would have taken me months to even notice and I probably wouldn't do a thing b/c I'd say it doesn't matter since my hair is up all the time /images/graemlins/perplexed.gif. If it bothers you trim very conseratively until you can even it out over time. I would never consider cutting 3-4" just to achieve some shape. It's looks great to me as is. /images/graemlins/wink.gif
I'm going through the same thing. My V is gone and the left side in the front is the shortest length, but I'm just going to let it be and trim when I reach my goal. Just think of creative ways to cover the shortest length. You'll be fine.
The "V" is not in the middle like it use to be. It's a little on the side due to the way it was cut. And guys, if i cut my hair in the "U" so it'll grow back evenly, my "V" would eventually come back 2 (hooray) and my sides will be even...
the rite side is really noticably shorter then the left... really, im not making it up... for real... seriously... LOL that is y i know i would need to trim more...
Give me a sec... i'll attach a pic.
Okay, here's the pic. Excuse the big spraypaint line, I am home, sick, and tired all at the same time.. LOL
I'd have to cut this (pretend it's a U shape) much in order for it to grow properly AND be even on both sides. Otherwise, I'll be doing a post like this in another 6 months. That's at least 2".
Okay. Judging from what I did last wk, I say cut it. It's gonna look fuller and grow back in no time b/c your hair will still be LONG at that length. Plus, if it's bothering you that much (and you know I can relate) you'll feel better doing it now rather than rushing to the mirror after every wash to see if it has caught up yet.
Don't shoot me! (lol) But that's my vote. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
CH you can move that line down some, IF you must cut /images/graemlins/naughty.gif I hope you don't mind I altered your pic. Can you see my little line?

ummm.. what do you mean "judging from what you did last week..."????????

LOL! Nothing extra, mommy. I promised that I would heed your advice and I did. I cut an inch off before I asked, remember? And I'm glad you convinced me not to do more. /images/graemlins/kisses.gif
What do you think about Kaddy's new cut line? Would that do?
