Has anyone ever tried hair chalking? It is a method for temporary colour!

What do you think of it?

Let's discuss!

P.S. pretty please vote for me here http://blackgirllonghair.com/2012/12/vote-for-the-2012-bglh-style-icon-of-the-year/ to be the BGLH icon of the year!

I can't believe I'm about to say this but I remember a thread about this but this time it's cool to see someone try it. It came out nice and vibrant. Does it last through a wash or two or does it rinse out easily?

I've heard of this. How does it rinse out? BTW, your pic is huge. :)

This colour was actually an accidental edit but then I remembered "hair chalking" and how this resembled it so I left it :) I remember reading that people use eyeshadow and it literally turns out even more vibrant and washes off very easily!

Would you ever try it?

I read that it really dries out your hair. You can't leave on for days. Eyeshadow might be better a better solution.

Inspiired I would try it if it had no negative side effects.

....might look into this eyeshadow though...

Eyeshadow seems to be the best option! I guess the theory is that it's safe enough to be close to your eyes so it must be relatively safe for your hair!

I'd hate the idea of it rubbing off on something but love the vibrancy of the colours. Before this, I had only seen it done on straight Caucasian hair.

I saw the colour chalk at sally's a while back. It was on clearance. From the reviews, the colour chalk they sold, wasn't that great. The color wasn't really vibrant and rubbed off on everything. Kinda like the temp color sprays you can get from the bss.

I never thought about cream eye shadow for an alternative. I will def have to try this!

Think I'mma try the cream eye shadow for NYE. If it works out, I might do it once in a while. I'm too chicken for real color.

Cream eyeshadow seems like an amazing idea, anyone who tries it come back and tell us how it goes!

I've even seen some eyeshadow with castor oil in the ingredients :)

I just used eye liner to cover up my grays in the front of my hair. I'm surprised it worked.

Does the eyeliner rub off? I'm imagining getting eyeshadow on the headrest in the car or staining the couch with it

Yeah I'm worried about that with the eyeshadow too. I think I will only do some strands in the front. I'm gonna do a test run before Monday. Will post with the results

I only applied it to the front of my hair to cover my grays. It didn't rub off unless I touched it. I don't think I would use it for the back of my hair though.
