Hey ladies! I'm new to the forum and this my first time starting a thread. So what were some of your haircare practices before you decided to get serious about your hair?
I have to admit I was pretty horrible to my hair before. I just didn't care about it because it was so coarse and unmanageable. I used heat several times a week, I wore it out all the time, hardly ever moisturized, I used shampoos with harsh sulfates and only washed my hair every 2-3 wks til I couldn't stand the itching anymore
..I relaxed bone straight every 5-6 wks and if my silk scarf fell off during the night I would leave it on my pillow and fall back to sleep. And of course I can't forget how I cared more about my weaves than my own hair.
So as a result?? My hair broke all off and I never saw any growth! I thought it was because my hair just wasn't growing. But once I really started taking care of my hair (after getting fed up with weaves) I realized that I actually get quite a bit of new growth. Now I wash my hair 2x/wk (shampoo & co-wash), use good products, wear protective styles 99% of the time, and stopped using direct heat. So what were some of the changes you've made?
