Hair Broke off in middle-front and some of the crown area. Should I cut it?

After wearing sew ins back to back for a year, pressing out my leave-out without an protectant and not really taking care of my hair underneath, my hair in the front-middle and some of the crown area has broken off to 1/2 an inch. The rest of my hair however is CBL and I'm also a natural.

Right now I've been wearing wigs with stocking caps, wash and dc weekly. My hair seem to be healthy but every time I wash my hair and look at the place that broken off I become frustrated and want to grab my scissors and start snipping the rest of my hair away so it can even out with the part that has broken off . I wish I can post a pic of it but everytime i post a pic on this forum it never show up. Please let me know if I should cut it or leave it alone?

So sorry about your setback, prettyplump. You now know firsthand that sticking with your reggie will help you prosper during your hair journey. I've been there too.

You said that your hair seems healthier since you've been back on your reggie. I would continue to follow the reggie and take pics of the areas every month for encouragement! Give it some time before cutting all of the progress that you have made :yep:.

How do you normally wear you hair? Straight or in its natural state? Is there any way you can disguise it until it grows out?

If it is too noticeable and you cant hide it while taking care of your hair then I say cut and start fresh.

If you can then I say wait it out..

wear it in a dedicated side part for a year and forget about it. It will be grown out before you know it. I don't believe in cutting the whole hair for the sake of the damaged part...it is too traumatizing

Rite now Im wearing wigs as a protective style and the only direct heat I use a blow-dryer on medium heat on 50% dried hair w/heat-protectant and thats once a wk. Thanks for the advice you guys I was this close to taking my scissors and going to work
