Ok ladies - I have been on this board for over 1 year and I have grown my hair out. Well now that I have grown it out I am completely and utterly tired of it! I know I know..go through all of this trouble just to realize - I want short hair again so I plan on cutting it after I am in my boy's wedding. I am the groomsmaid.

I know I know...but I am tired of this hair and understand I have THICK HAIR!

Girl I am not mad at that! Change can be really great! ;)

Besides, its hair and it will grow back! You have proven that! :D

Is that your pic? and have you considered maybe wearing a short wig/weave instead of cutting all of your hair off? Are you sure you won't miss it even though you are tired of it??? I'm just curious because I wish I had some hair to cut off!!!

Curlee- Good for you, you made a choice and it seems it is a well thought out one.

As far as I'm concerned--there is nothing wrong with changing up your style. I, too am thinking of going short. I am frankly tired of worrying about length and getting sad when I never get past bra strap without thinning out. But hey, we're beautiful, marvelous chicks and we can make changes wheneva the heck we feel like it.

And remember, it's hair and it will always be growing!

:D

If you do get your hair cut, please consider donating it to one of the charities that collect hair for cancer patients. :)

i have gone thro the same thing, i would say if u feel like cutting it dont go too far at first just go to a little above shoulder length and then if u feel u still want it shorter go for it.

my hair has always been long so i had to cut it at about age 16, its since grown back and i do the short wig thing whenever i want to have short hair back. i would say try on some short wigs and see what looks good on you, wait mayb i am not giving u good info since u had short hair to begin with...?

well as long as your hair is healthy you should have no problem growing it back if you ever happen to want to.

Um, how do I say this delicately? What are ya'll crazy!? Ok, that needs work. :wink2: Ya'll know what I mean. You have such beautiful hair. It just seems criminal. I know it's your hair, but come on... you gotta take this one for the team. :look: We need ya'll.

I say go for it! From one thick haired sister to another I understand. The main objective of this site is healthy hair, which will result in longer hair if that's what you want. But health is the primary objective. I'd say give it some serious thought and if you feel the same way - do it! It will grow back if that's what you want later.....IMHO

I think I'm the minority on this one. It's very difficult to fathom after all the hard work you put into growing your hair to just cut. Although I understandthat feeling. I've had that "feeling" and reacted on it several several times which put me in the predicament I'm in now. Yes it's just hair and yes it will grow back, but good Lord, I WISHED I had thick hair. That is sooo beautiful. If it's a matter of managing it, I'm sure you can do it. Please don't cut it. I believe if you did even with all the freedom and change that comes with it eventually you are going to miss your hair.

I agree with the other ladies, hair does grow back! If you want change, change it up.

BUT, if thickness is the problem, before cutting it short, perhaps you could try thinning it out (by a cut) and if that doesnt work, then go shorter. That way you'll get to experience two new styling options (thinned out longer hair, and short hair) instead of one.

Good luck!
