my mother just put a relaxer in her hair

me: wash your hair again!
her: ((ignores me))
me: i'm not kidding! wash it again
her: ((ignores me))
me: how many times did you wash your hair?
her: twice.
me: you should wash it again
her: it wasnt red anymore
me: i bet you if you left it on a bit, it'd turn pink again
her: ((ignores me and looks for her conditioner))

lol oh well...i tried.
((pats self on the back for trying to help))

Buy moms one of those battery operated, lightweight vacuums.:look:

May I suggest the Shark Cordless VX3.

Features:

• Lightweight and maneuverable swivel steering
• Cordless-Go-Anywhere design
• Convenient to use bottom-emptying dust tray
• Folding 'Backsaver' Handle
• 2 Speeds: Multi Surface (Carpet and Bare Floor) and Turbo (tough messes and pet hair)
• Super-wide 13' Brush Roll
• Side Brush for picking up dirt along walls
• Up to 90 minutes of run time (although a good 2-3 minutes on the bathroom floor would probably suffice)
================

You tried. :ohwell:

It's sad but people never listen... What about the ones who ASK for advice and then say it won't work for them and say why, "No that's not it" LOL.

i usually dont say anything when people are doing their hair
i just let them do what they do

but i thought i'd try this time

hahaha

RR, next best you can do is buy your Mom a color signal neutralizer such as ISOPLUS or did she already have one {"not RED anymore"}. She'll believe it if she can see the lack of color change.

I think mom did fine. She knows her hair. She didn't see anymore red. I think she'll be okay. I wash 3 times, but others wash more, so who said 2 times isn't enough. We shouldn't assume that our way is the only correct way of doing things.

Well U know what...one extra wash would not hurt. She was just being hard headed...just because.... My husband is like that. I remembered someone posting earlier about making sure to neutralize well so last night even I, self proclaimed relaxing expert, neutral washed one extra time just for good measure. Rather be safe than SORRY!!! No one has to tell ME twice. :)

I agree with this.

If she did not see anymore of the color, her hair will still continue to neutralize with the conditioner.

We can't try to assume we know it all, and want to control what others do. I'm sure her mom is a wise woman and knows what she's doing. She doesn't have to do it the way most people do it here, for it to be correct. We don't know EVERYTHING here.

I buy good products and just replace her stuff:lachen: no explanations is too exhausting!

I agree with this :lachen::lachen::lachen:....I have learned soooo much on this site...but i did have healthy hair before so i pick and choose advise is a matter of what works for you.

I don't think it's a matter of who knows more. It's a matter of being safe. Does anyone have to tell you to look both ways before crossing the street. I hope not, no matter how many times I cross the street a day, if someone tells me to be sure to look, you'd better ***** ya I'm gonna take that extra glance before I go. Hope that clarifies the point. No assumptions can be made with anyone else, you han only hope they are being as safe as they can when using chemicals.

I definitely agree with that...its not about who knows more..but moreso about being cautious..You could cross that street without looking and you may not get hit..but look anyway even if you know there are no cars coming

Nobody has to tell me how to cross the street. And I'm sure nobody has to tell that grown woman how to wash her hair. She already knows how. I'm glad she did it her way. If she still has hair after doing it her way since her 1st relaxer, then I'm sure her hair will be fine.
