Gymfreak, you still using Hawaiian Silky?

If so how is your hair doing? I was gonna pm you but I know a lot of ladies on the board follow your advice. I just wanted your honest opinion, especially reading some of your responses about being unhappy with SE b/c of shedding. For me it also makes my hair feel silky but for the actual relaxing of the hair it is questionable.

I was thinking about just going back to old, trusty but burning Optimum Care. Or I could spend more money with Mizani Butter. And I was thinking about how happy you were with Hawaiian Silky. Just wanted to know if that was still the case?

Hey Chica!!!

Yes, I am still on the Hawaiian Silky.

The last touch up I did, I didn't use it out of impatience. I didn't have enough for my whole head so I bought a box and went for it. BAD IDEA!

My hair didn't break or anything but I wasn't processed well and my hair didn't feel as good. So last week I corrected it with Hawaiian Silky. My hair felt instantly better. I used the mild (the sodium hydroxide one this time) and I had no problems. I didn't get any burning and I haven't had any burning issues with either one (the lithium or the sodium). I always do the mid protein step and proceed as usual. My newgrowth has shine and always feels smooth and soft with this relaxer.

Honestly, I was worried about my first relaxer application since I permanently colored my hair but I haven't seen any bad side effects. My hair isn't breaking and besides my weird not holding a curl problem, my hair is fine. I loved how silk elements processed me but about 4-5 week into the stretch, my hair would shed more and it just felt different. I haven't had those problems with Hawaiian Silky and it is just as cheap as silk elements.

That is my issue with SE, my new growth didn't have shine! Just like ORS (for me) it made my hair feel great but wasn't necessarily a good relax job.

I think I will try Hawaiian Silky. It's in ample supply in Chicago, especially since it is headquartered here. Thanks chica.

Can you post a picture of the Relaxer in question? I saw it in a store the other day I was not sure. I live in Jamaica. I want to give it a try for my next touch up.
TIA
