Grow BSL w/ no cut

Has anyone ever grown their hair to BSL w/o a trim or a cut? Lately, I've been adding Porosity Control to my generic Nexxus Humectress and my shedding/breakage is far less than it had been. I kinda see a growth spurt but can't be too sure 'cause I wear braidouts 90% of the time.

My hair feels like it's on to something but I needed a few witnesses to affirm that hair growth is possible w/o the cutting.

I'm trying to make it with no more trims. I'm just trying to keep my ends moisturized and protected. I will trim when I get there.

Growth really has nothing to do with trimming. I guess you could say that length retention may, but not growth itself.

Before I did the big chop, I made it just beyond bsl without trimming. I plan to do it again, but with my natural hair this time.

I never actually transitioned (wore braids off and on for 10 years or so) never BC'd, I did some dusting and trimming for a few years, but scissors haven't touched my hair in any way in probably 3 years (I'm guessing, because I can't remember the last time I used scissors), so in my opinion you can grow your hair to the floor if you want without cutting!

I'm doing this too. I have been taking EXTRA special care of my ends so as not to have a lot of breakage. It's really odd, but I didn't really pay attention to my ends before and now...I feel soooooooooo guilty when I wear my hair down. I HATE it rubbing against my clothes and I'm so conscious of the damage I'm doing to my ends.

Yes, it is possible. Starting out with healthy ends, just be sure to keep your ends hydrated at all times.

I did it with no trims and I continue to grow my hair without trims. I started out using Cathy Howse's method except with no heat. I've found that I have little to no splits in my hair from not using heat. I baby my ends and keep them moisturized every morning and night.

Thanks, Ladies! I feel so encouraged! I'll see how long this journey lasts. I've tried EVERYTHING! The braidouts have really helped my hair to grow. I have a daughter whose hair has not grown in years! I PCJ'd her much too early and her hair hasn't been the same since. Everyone suggested keeping it trimmed but NO MORE! From now on, it'll be protein, Porosity Control, moisturizing conditioners and hot oil treatments. I'm determined to thicken and grow her hair also. Oh, and I didn't forget: MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE!

The last time I had dusted my hair was in august 05, now I'm growing my hair without any trims until my second goal:full bra strap(december 06) !

i haven't trimmed my hair for nearly a year and i've kept 3 inches since november. i'm about 2-3 inches away from brastrap length..and i dont have many splits and not really any breakage, so yes its very possible, u gotta preserve those ends tho. i do this with grease mmmmmm

i went from less than shoulder length to brastrap in fourteen months without a cut, I think. I don't know since I don't have my hard copy hair journal anymore
