I'm new here. I've been lurking for a couple months, and I've taken the plunge and started taking so much of your advice. My hair is definitely improving. I haven't mesaured it, but it is so smooth and so much shinier. I bought some Kiehl's the other day from Nordstrom's and my wallet is still suffocating!
A couple days ago, I started taking biotin. I got it at Wal-Mart for $1.44...At any rate, I saw the post on L-cysteine and eggs so I thought I would try it (I hate eggs and can't find the l-cysteine) Then I noticed some of you are taking different doses of biotin. I went to FDA.gov site to find out what is an acceptable level. There is this 526-page document on it (it is the first .pdf file that comes up when you type "biotin" in the search field). I was six pages in when it says something to the effect that egg whites inactivates biotin. So I guess that means you can do one or the other but not both. Actually it says "raw egg whites," don't think anybody is doing that here, right?
Is anybody here doing biotin and eggs (or l-cysteine)? How's that working? Has anybody tried them successively? Which works better?
Besides that, I have so many questions for all you hair professors. But I'm about to get my workout on...that's my other question though. I workout intensely and it is killing my hairline (frizzy out the wazoo!) I wash and deep condition every three days. I just wonder what you ladies do about the edge of your hair and the sweat, which is great for the body but wreaks havoc on the hair. I'll put my other questions in separate posts.
Thanks in advance.
