Ok ladies, i know that times are hard for a lot of us in this hair journey and some of us are doing more and more for our hair at home. So, for those of us who are cutting back financially because of hard times, i was thinking that maybe the ladies on this site can help us find some cheapie goodies for our hair. The limit is $5 so anything we can buy for $5 and under is greatly appreciated. Tell us the name of the product, how much it costs and where we can buy it. I will also add some cheapies overtime. Deep conditioners are greatly appreciated, esp for the winter that's coming up.

I know if you buy the big bottles they can cost more than $5 but the garnier fructis conditioners are the bomb! I'm not one for drugstore conditioners cause I hate how they make my hair feel but I've been having some nice results lately! I have the length and strength, sleek and shine and triple nutrition conditioners and deep conditioners. Bought some of the styling products to play with too. Ecostyler is also nice!

This is a great thread idea! I'm re-iterating some things that have been said

BB Oil Moisturizer - this thing is under-rated. I bought it and just left it in a basket under my sink. Had to pull it out when my Kids Organics was done. I added some water and BAM - less breakage, less shedding. The best!

Suave Tropical Coconut Con - Just bought another bottle today. There isn't anything better under $2 for co-washes or for a doctored DC (I add EVOO)

Glycerin - just makes everything work better lol.

These are my budget products:

Shampoos: Cream of Nature (detangling/moisturizing formula) still sold in Los Angeles, Elasta QP Cream Conditioning Shampoo, and Proclaim Olive Glossing Shampoo

Conditioners: Silk Elements – 3 versions, Motions Moisture Plus, Suave Humectant/Biolage, Mane N Tail, VO 5 Smoothies & Moisture Milk, Suave Milk and Honey and Coconut, ORS Replenishing Pak, Proclaim Olive Glossing Conditioner, and Le Kair Cholesterol Plus, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle

Leave In Treatment: Infusium 23

Pomades: Softee Indian Hemp, TCB Naturals, Africa’s Best Super Gro, Wondergro Shea Butter Pomade, Vaseline mixed with oils and butters

Oils: Hairobics, Africa’s Best Herbal Oil, Olive Oil, Vegetable Oil, Hot 6

Softee Signature Growth Oil @ Dollar General. Really moisturizing, natural, & smells heavenly. 2 formulas. $2 each :woot:

There are actually 3 different formulas. I have been meaning to find them so I can try them out, but only after I finish what I have.

Thanks to the OP and everyone who has commented. I am on a mission to keep it under $5, and this is really helpful.
