I have a MAJOR problem. My pillowcases and sheets constantly have grease spots on them from either my hair or my scarf or bonnet :nono: its such an annoying and unattractive problem and when I do laundry the spots dont come out. :wallbash:Do any of you have this problem? And if so how do you deal w/ it?

This is always a problem for me, but I usually sleep on top of a towel now, and I wash them once a week to try to keep the grease out.

i sleep on top of a towel too....

to get the grease spots out you can put a bunch of baby powder on the spots and let it sit for a few days....the powder will absorb the oil.....

Do you pre-treat the stain? One tip is to use a dish detergent like Dawn as a pre-treatment. Soak in soapy water before washing.

Also, I found that I needed to wash my bonnets and scarves just as often as my pillow cases.

i wash my bonnet and scarf...but you can always use a designated pillowcase that you dont mind getting dirty.

WOW! lol. i was just frowning at my beige pillowcases yesterday! I thought, "eew, people are gonna think i don't wash my bedding!"

I've tried sleeping on the towel but maybe i use way too much oil because that doesnt help, I've even tried wearing SEVERAL bonnets and scarfs lol...makes my head heavy...so I'm gonna go with what R4L suggested, and use a shower cap or two under my bonnet.

I sleep on a deep red satin pillowcase so stains don't show that well, maybe a darker pillowcase will make it look less apparent.

u can sleep on the "stained" pillow case, and then when you make your bed "for presentation," put another pillow case on top... so when you go to bed, you take off the top pillow case to sleep on.. I used to do that when I had that problem because I don't like the way it look either.

ETA: I don't like the towel idea only because I don't like the way it feel to sleep on a towel and when my scarf fall off in the middle of the night, i don't want my hair to rub against towel.. just my 2 cents..

I've been sleeping with a turbie twist over my scarf or shower cap (if I'm baggying). It works out great for me.

:yep:Same here my pillow cases are dark purple satin, and the oil stains are not noticeable. I still have to wash them frequently because the oil will break my face out.

When I'm doing my oil prepoo, I cover with a shower cap and then a scarf. If I'm sealing I use a very small amount of oil, so it doesn't seep through my scarf. If I do an oil rinse during my wash, I have to rinse for a long time (10 min at least) our else I have oil dripping all over the place for days after my wash.

These are one of the reasons why I baggy. I bag then scarf, and there is no stain or grease on my pillow, scarf or face.

This is what I do. I have a black satin pillowcase on an old pillow that I use. It's the only one I lay my head on.

Maybe You could also try to wear a shower cap or plastic cap at night too.

I too sleep on top of a towel. I find myself waking up during the night to make sure it is still in place though and that is getting to be a pain.....

Maybe you should re-think your current products or use less or apply them earlier in the evening to give procuts time to soak in....

I don't have this problem but i think amazing has a great suggestion here. use one set of pillow cases for "presentation" and sleep on the spotted ones :yep:

You guys are probably using wayyy too much oil on your hair. It really does not take that much oil. (or if you use butters and seal with an oil, thats like a double dose). I used to have greasy sheets too but I stopped using butters as much, (or if I did I only used a small amount)

If grease is staining your pillowcases then its a possibility that your hair itself is kind of greasy, no? (at least mine was :/)

I sandwich a microfiber kitchen towel b/w my first and second scarf (sort of like using an insert with cloth baby diapers). I also put another microfiber towel on my pillow case and another under it for the two dys after I've shampooed, dc'd, and moisturized (every 2 wks). For general moisturizing, the sandwich approach is sufficient...and I use a lot of product. (Cheapie white kitchen towels from Walmart~ $3-5 for 3.)

I had this problem with the sulfur/oil mix. The oils went through the pillow case to my pillow and the feathers.

I have since decided that I would rather not use the mix and any aides to grow hair will be taken orally.

I wear a bonnet &/or have black satin pillowcases & cotton pillowcases that I rotate. I get stains on the cotton pillowcases sometimes, but I don't care about them.

I use the blk satin or some other nicer pillowcases for when my bed is made.

I bought black pillowcases for just for me to sleep on but some times ill accidentally lay on my scarf or bonnet then boom there goes a grease stain. Soooooo annoying

I had this problem when I used Carol's Daughter products. I was probably using too much as well.

I have the problem only on my pillow cases. I would recommend you soaking your sheets and pillow cases in Dish liquid (palmolive, etc), mixed with water and soak them in a buket for a day or so or longer. When you wash these items again, they will be spot free.

I think you should reduce the products you're using or baggy with them. Also maybe moisturising during the day will allow the products to absorb before bedtime, or two hours before bedtime. Never had this problem, only had greasiness with MTG I used a lot less product to control that
