Grape Seed Oil?

Has anyone ever used grape seed oil in any of their mixtures or concoctions? I have a bottle in my kitchen (apparently I was going to cook with it) and figure it may go to good use in my hair if it has any benefits like EVOO...Anyone? TIA

Yes I do use grapeseed oil. I find it to be not as heavy as EVOO but for my hair thats good. I actually perfer it over EVOO because my hair can't tolerate products that or too heavy. I have mixed it with my conditioners and also in my skin moisturizers. If I use an oil to seal with I use grapeseed oil but lately for sealing I use CHI SILK INFUSIOn after I use my beloved Dove Sheer Mist. HTH

I just started to use Grape Seed oil this Monday..and I love it. It smell nice too. This is one of my new staples!!!!

I use riesling grape seed oil and chardonnay grape seed oil very often. I use them on my face and also hair.

Sometimes I use the oils to seal moisture in, but I have a hair and skin treatment I like to use when it's raining or humid out. It contains olive butter, chardonnay grape seed oil, and honey. The honey is a humectant and draws moisture in. I smooth it on my hair and I also use it as a moisturizing mask for my face after exfoliating.

Cat eyes, where did you purchase the GSO? I believe you're in Houston as well so I'd like to find some.

Thanks

cat eyes, your grape seed oil is a mix. Looks like good stuff in it...yeah, where did you find that?

I have Now brand 100% pure grapeseed oil that I got from a health food store. I cook with it sometimes, but I also like it on hair and skin. It is very light.

yes Grapeseed was my first oil that I bought before I came here actually. It is is my hair and body oil. They works wonders on troubled skin and hair too apparently. Good mixing mama

:yay: Thanks ladies!! Yeah, its pure grape seed I bought at the grocery store. I'm glad to know this will go to good use now. AND, I'm liking that its lighter than EVOO. My hair can't take alot of heavy product, so this will be perfect as an add in and pre poo!

It's a great product. I like it because I can use it on my face and hair straight out of the bottle.

Love grapeseed oil!!!! I mix it with coconut and shea butter to make a creme. It works well and keeps my moisture locked in, especially in winter. I agree that it is lighter that olive oil - both in scent and weight. LOVE it!

I have. It's good stuff. It has a strong sealing action. I stopped using it to seal because it started giving my hair a waxy feeling (it probably was building up or something, my hair has a tendency to react strangely to oils), but I like it in my treatments.

Yes, I'm a Fan of 100% Grapeseed Oil. It's a very nice lightweight oil.

I've totally used mine up (which is rare for me) but will definitely be a repurchase for the Spring/Summer Months Ahead.

Had I not used it up, I would have tried it as part of My Weekly Hot Oil Treatments.

I've been using it on and off since last winter when I had to find a cold-weather replacement for EVCO. I use it or sweet almond oil for sealing, and also as carrier oils when I want to use tea tree EO on my scalp.

i also use the one the OP pictured in her post.. i love it..i get it from just about any BSS here in chicago. the same company also has an olive oil mix, carrot oil mix, vitamin E oil mix and a shea butter mix.. all are sold in similar tubes and there a buck each!!! i have and love them all!! good thread

Grapeseed Oil is fabulous as a hot oil treatment. It is also an excellent oil to add to conditioners.

I mix this with my hair gel...makes my hair shiny and not crunchy

Also i mix it with lotion or one of my home made concoctions. I hear it is supposed to help get rid of stretch marks.
