Lately I haven`t been happy with my hair as it did not have a shape. I had layers cut a year and a half ago but they have grown out and my hair was looking like a camping tent /\ . I usually rollerset (love it!) and although my hair looked good the first day, I had to either curl the front or use flexirods. I even bought some setting lotion (lottabody and mizani) thinking that the curls didn't last until I realized it was just a matter of shape. I like voluminous hair and don't think the super straight flat ironed look lookes great on me (I call it my "professor Snape look":lachen:).
So I made an appt with the same hair stylist who cut my hair last year and had layers re cut, specially in the front I wanted short layers to frame my eyes:gorgeous: . She really listened to what I wanted and did not cut the bottom layer in the back so technically I'm still the same length. I'm currently APL when straight but looks just below shoulders when curled.
So this is the before in a rollerset (first day, trust me it didn't look like this on the second day):

another before from yesterday (rollerset with roots flat ironed, see what I mean?sorry picture is blurry)

I really like it, it looks shorter but has the shape I wanted, I'll rollerset for New Year's Eve and won't be curling it like she did, just want the layers to show.:yep:

if that was the shape you were going got then great... I don't see anything wrong with your hair I think it is great.

I love it and it actually looks longer to me with the layers. I am so getting layers next. My hair takes to layers very well.

It looks gorgeous Dany, really pretty. Your strands look so thick. :yep:

How is the Kerasatse Elixir ultime?

Thank you ladies! Yes, that's exactly what I wanted, I like big hair and when it grows out more the length in the layers in the front will look nicer. Before, my hair looked longer but shapeless and it was either pulled back in a bun or loose and pretty the first day but awful the next days so it made no sense.

Cream Tee, the Elixir Ultime is nice but IMHO there are other (cheaper) alternatives out there. I was surprised when this hair stylist defended it when I compared it to Moroccan oil, because although this is a Kerastase salon, she personally prefers Redken products (she's natural and has gorgeous light blonde and caramel highlights). To me, I won't be rebuying,I WILL be rebuying the Sublimateur Jour as a daily moisturizer and the Night serum as a night moisturizer before bed. For this look she used Oleo relax shampoo, Masquintense, a bit of Oleo relax slim as a leave in and oleo relax serum when she was done curling it. My hair smells soo nice:lick:
