I've been seeing lots of articles on bangs in the mags lately. They seem to be big for the springtime. Stylist like Oribe(JLo's) are reccommending bags that are longer on the sides. How many of us have 'em, and if so what are they like?
When my hair is longer I want bangs, but I dunno if it will work out with natural hair if i decide to wear it curly. It might look like a bif frizzy puff in the front.
Yeah, if you've got natural hair, bangs just aren't the best thing to do. I remember girlfriends when I was little that had one big ol' swollen puff above their faces.
I have them right now, and they are long pieces. I want them to completely grow out. I look dorky with short bangs, so they've always been long. Now I just pull them behind my ears.
I hat how when you want to wear your hair back, the ends from the bangs come loose and stick out. They just never seem to lay flat with the rest of the head.
I have my bags back and I love them - but they are long....almost cheek length and they aren't too "thick" or wide.
Perfect bangs. Kind of like Courtney Cox's - that's how I wear it now...

Ack, I know!!!! I have this one rebellious side that only sticks up when I have had a couple drinks.
I didn't know that it did that until my BF told me, which is embarrassing. He calls it the Antenna and says its a drunk indicator
I've worn a bang for as long as I can remember (always trying to cover my big forehead) but now I'm growing them out for the first time -- they're about at the end of my nose now, and it's great!!
Last year was awful because they were short, and everytime I did a twist-out, I would have to pull the front of my hair up cuz they were too short to leave out (that looked ridiculous!!!)
So, I agree that a short bang is definitely a no-no for someone who's natural and plans to wear their hair curly!!
in march of last year , i cut my bangs to above eyebrow length. as of right now they're below chin lenght but once i attain my overall hair goal ill be cuttin them again back to above eyebrow length
I've had bangs since kindergarten. I didn't like my forehead either.
Since I got to college though I was sometimes too lazy to make sure that they looked perfect when I left for class, so I started pulling all of my hair back. I always have them, but I only wear them every now and then. I usually just comb them back and don't have a problem with them flying up, because I use grease. I think that I will always have them even if I don't make use of them.
This is an old picture from like a month before I started college, when I use to wear bangs everday:
Actually naturals can wear bangs, but you've got to be careful how much hair you use. Since natural hair has built in fullness, you only need to use a small section.
Then use a heavy product (I use salon selectives molding putty) to weigh the hair down so it doesn't turn into a little puff ball. But, if you are worried about your hair shrinking, I would recommend a product with little water in it- something like shea butter maybe.
What I love about bangs is I can try out something on it, a product or technique I don't want to try on the rest of my hair. They add something also when wearing buns and other updos.
