Well, I used the Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil Hair Treatment with Mink oil last night after I washed my hair. I worked very nicely. It accomplished the lubrication that I need at my roots (my hair is so thick that if I do not use some type of grease then my roots will tangle and the whole head of hair just follows). I got this with the All Ways Castor Oil grease but it was very greasy due to the petroleum and mineral oil in it. It also kind of made my hair warm but not in a good way. The Hollywood Beauty works just as well but it is not greasy or hot and I can touch my hair without having greasy hands. I love it! I like products that can make my hair have sheen without grease.
Right now I'm using Softee Herbal Gro and it works good on my scalp with a nice smell. I think I would like to try Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil with Mink oil. Ingredients sound nice.
Another good choice would be Earthly Delight Hair Growth Stimulator Pomade. I'm in SC. The only place I can get it is online from willner.com. Ingredients: coconut oil, virgin olive oil, chlorophyll, essentials oils of sage, nettles, rosemary and bergamot.
It turns into a liquid almost as soon as it touches my scalp.
Sassy, does it absorb though. What I need is something that absorbs like a lotion but without the consistency to get stuck in the hair or interfere with styling. I was using UBH on the scalp but too much of it causes it to flake. Also, on the bottle, Howse states "don't use it on the scalp." I will look at that site.
Bett1e- I wouldn't try that site then if the email bounces. Big no-no. But do you have to put it on your scalp, if th enizoral takes care of the dandruff then why recreate it by putting products on the scalp. Even when I used grease I always greased the roots and not the scalp. Of course some would get on there but not the amount that would have with traditional greasing methods.
I couldn't order from the site anyway because they didn't list any information. I haven't oiled my scalp in months but I would like to be able to do it on occasion.

My hair soaks it up immediately. Warning--it has little bits of herbs in it. I know a lot of people don't like this. It looks kind of like All Ways Indian Hemp with all the little flecks and specks in it. But I've never experienced any cruddy fallout like with Motions CPR.

Oh, I wouldn't like it with herbs. My hair is dense. Any extra stuff just gets caught in the hair.
I'm glad I warned you in advance about the herb bits. Maybe you could use plain oil on your scalp like jojoba, aloe or grapeseed. Those are absorbed rather quickly. Have you tried Sweetcocoa's Pomade? Check her website or the recipe board. Good stuff!
