Today I took my only daughter (30) to Lisa's on Georgia ave. We have an event to go to and she wanted her natural hair straight. The background is that she has never had straight hair in her life. When she was younger she wore a care free curl, but most of the time I kept her in braids. We were both nervous, but she understands some Spanish and can speak a few words. The staff was very friendly once they warmed up. She brought her own products and they didnt mind. Green CON, Sillicon Mix, Lasio and CHI. I noticed they had many good products there for sale. I was scared about the heat right on wet hair. From what I learned here on the board. The smoke was crazy. Tiffany took it well considering she is not accustomed to any direct heat at all. The results were amazing. Apologize for lack of pics. Will try to get some at the event. Thankfully her hair is very healthy and well conditioned. They didnt pressure her into any cutting or perming. But Lisa did ask her to get a texlax next time so she does not have to work so hard :yep:. I woudnt recommend doing it often because of the extreme heat. But once in a while it seems ok. Hopefully it will revert back to the 4z that she likes. She is full SL and very thick. Nice folks there so dont be scared. There were many beautiful heads leaving there. Quick service, no waiting. Perhaps when I come out of the wig/instant weaves, I may venture in. Whole thing cost 55.00 for shampoo, DC and blowout.

I'm glad your dd had a positive experience. I would love to see pics! :yep: I hope you do share with your daughter that there is no need to texlax unless that is what she wants to do after careful consideration.

Thanx for the kind words. Tiffany is very strong willed so I am sure she will do exactly what she wants with her hair. It was nice to see her with straight hair after 30 years.

Here she is 2 days later with the ends bumped under. Its a cell phone pic, so it didnt come out so well.

Could you share any contact information for the salon? I have a natural friend in DC looking for a place to go.
