Going on date with an East Indian guy...

...In a bit. I'm so scared. Never in a million years would I see myself in this position. I think we're going to an Indian restaurant so I'm scared x10. I need some pep talk ladies!:drunk:

Well never been out with an Indian guy ever. I don't even know that many Indian males. Just wondering how things will go and since we're going to an Indian place I'm afraid of the looks we might get. This is so new to me.

Well, don't focus on the fact that he's Indian. Don't think of it as going on a date with an Indian guy; think of it as going on a date with a guy.
You may get looks, you may not. Focus on the date and not the other people. Don't psyche yourself out. Relax and have fun. :)

I've dated two guys from India. They were actually nice and attentive. One was too touchy feely but I think that was his personality not a culture thing. The other was sweet, intelligent, and good looking. They adored me. Have fun. Remember a man is a man, culture and race aside.

thats what I always do. Make sure to confirm that his parents dont do arranged marriages. Was he born and raised in the US?

Nah, he was born in India. I'm just looking to have a good time, don't really care if nothing serious comes from it. I know I sound like a man right now, but it's kinda cool to be able to add 'Indian Guy' to my list. (of guys I've gone out with, not taken to bed:look:)

Thank you! I've been asked out by Indian guys before (two other ones), but this is the first time I've gone for it. I've dated out many times, but only white and Hispanic. For some reason, this is the first time I've gotten nervous.

I've been out with Indian guys before... never got past one date, but as you know, I'm always a believer in the idea that one lunch/dinner with a man in broad daylight won't kill ya! If it ends up being more, then cool beans, but I just look at each first date as nothing more than an opportunity to have an interesting (hopefully) conversation with a man and improve my dating skills. Not worried about whether he's husband material or not on a first date.

I have dated an indian man before. He was so lovely and now is a great friend of mine.

Please do not be scared. Don't focus on his nationality. Focus on his words, his mind and his heart.

Don't forget to post an update ;-)

All the best

I've dated two Indian guy. I was actually more comfortable with them than the white guys that I dated. As long as he isn't super conservative, it should be fine.

Alright ladies I'm back!

It was a lot of fun! Not sure now why I was so nervous!

We indeed went to an Indian restaurant. I had him order for me and we tried all different types of food. He explained everything to me, and the food was great.

The Indian guy who owns the place was smiling at me the whole time.

At first we made small talk, but towards the end we were laughing out butts off. We were the last people there.

Not sure if anything will come out of it. He made a comment that next time we should do a lunch date or something. I have no real expectations but if anything I made a new friend. All I need now is to go on a date with an East Asian guy and I'll officially be an International Lover:grin:.

 at the last line. Glad you had fun!!

I once went to an Indian restaurant with a Black male friend and we both decided to be daring, so we asked for our meals to be "extra spicy" :nono:... the waiter was looking at us like "are you sure?" and we're like :yep:

:nono: we could barely eat! my friend's scalp started scratching and sweating  and every bite had to be followed by a sip of some beverage. It was painful and funny lol.

I hope that didn't happen to you!

i have an extreme liking for indian men.. just something about some of them that... i don't know.. yum.
I went out with a guy from india and he was really nice.. didn't hesitate to pay.. opened doors.. was really courteous but he wasn't my type.
Where I live there are a lot of indian people in general so there is usually something to look at. I don't think you have to worry about arranged marriages.. just take it easy and have a good time.
MMm.. good luck.

Yea, the one thing I liked is that he didn't ask me to go back to his place. Unfortunately, this has not been the case lately. I've been out on a few dates and they have ended with the guy asking if I'd like to go chill with him at his place :nono:. This was definitely a breath of fresh air.

I actually did not ask him. If we continue to talk I will ask, but like I said...I'm not looking for anything serious at all. Just some company to enjoy and perhaps a friendship.

Is being an "International Lover" one of your goals?

Can't say it is but it just happened to turn out this way:grin:. I must say that I do enjoy knowing that I've dated or at least gone out with many different types. I just want to know what options are out there and getting to know different types of guys gives me a clearer view of all that. I'm having fun out here.
