Glycerin makes my hair poofy!

Yes! It makes my hair really soft but I just can't deal with all this poof. I don't use it by itself. I use it with a mixture of things. This is what I use in my mister bottle: 2 tablespoons of glycerin, a few drops of EVOO, 2 or 3 squirts of my Tresseme Hair Lotion, and the rest is water. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or if glycerin is just not good for my hair. So what do you guys think? Oh, and I just got some camellia oil and i put some on my hair to test it out. Whoa, a little goes a LONG way. Lol.
Thanks :)

Glycerin pulls water from the air. If your area is humid then it will pull the moisture from the air and it will be absorbed in your hair.

Exactly.

That's why if you straighten, especially as a natural, you should use anti-humectant products.

Glycerin absorbs water from the air so of course your hair is going to get poofy and frizzy if you use it. It's fine if you want your hair to be big, but if you're trying to wear a sleek or straight style, don't use the glycerin.

I live in Texas, so, yes, it's very humid and nasty here--especially now! Lol. But that makes since. Does anyone have any tips on camellia oil?

I used camellia for a while.I would mix it with home made leave in and use that as a moisturizer for hair, skin, and nails. It will make you nails look great BTW. I don't use it anymore. I think that was because I was still trying lost of new things. I still use it on my skin and nails though and it is great doesn't make you feel oily.

I just mixed glycerin with aloe vera gel, EVCO, EVOO, and castor oil....I can't stop touching my hair................I think I can deal with the poofiness with it making my hair feel like this. I'll cry if this means the fight with dryness is OVAH!!! :yep:
