Glycerin alternative for Winter use??

Well, with the change in temperature my glycerin/water mix is no longer working, so now my hair is back to it's old extremely dry crunchy old self again. This was the only thing that seemed to work on my hair, everything else would just sit on my hair. What alternatives are there to keep my hair soft that is a non-humectant for winter use? I'm a natural 4a/4b. I'm thinking about trying Elasta QP Mango Butter. Does this work well for any other 4a/4b's out there? I really need something because my hair is starting to break off. Thanks in advance

Maybe less water in the mix u use and a lil' more oil?

Dunno why I think in winter any water on ur head would turn icy, and would cease 2 be as moisturising... esp if u wear ur hair down in the cold

I remember someone mentioning Fantastix Leave-in, which she compared to S-curl. It doesn't have any glycerine in it. I forget who,I'll do a search

I'm having the exact same problem with my natural 4a/b hair. I think that I'm going to try the Mango Butter or Carol's Daughter products.
